The Vanishing Choice: Frolic of Survival

The Unicorn!

[4 days later.]

[Each and everyone in the city of Elysium were shocked again by their new rules.]

[The government of Elysium had gone too far. It was announced that everyone will be given an amount of 10 oxygen sips every day. The oxygen sips will be recharged from 11 pm at night. Who'll finish his/her sips before the time, he/she will be dead. The finishing methods will be-
1. Jumping
2. Running
3. Screaming.]

[For this announcement, the people of Elysium became very careful in their daily routine.]

[The next day of the announcement.]

[Elisa got ready to go to college. She and Cyrus both picked upy their books. While doing this suddenly they both kept their hand on the same book. She looked at him and he also looked at her. While staring at each other by mistake Cyrus picked up her unicorn diary and put that in his own bag.]

[In hesitation, Elisa stepped to the main door.]

Cyrus: I think you've already remembered that what was the new rule?

Elisa: Yes, I'm.

Cyrus: Ok. Then don't hurry for anything. Be careful at college.

[Without replying she got and after 20 minutes she reached at college.]

[In between these days, she got a new friend named Sophia. She is a very sweet girl, and adores Elisa very much.]

[The time was 12:10 pm.]

[After the 1st class ends. As was their off-period, they decided to go to the nearby park named, Arden of Greenery.]

[In the park.]

Sophia: Hey, do you bring what you've said to brought?

Elisa: Yup, I'm. (Smiling)

Sophia: Wow, let's see.

Elisa: Hm. Just wait a sec.... (Opening zip of the bag).

[Elisa looked into her bag and then on another chain and then another.]

Sophia: What happened?

Elisa: I couldn't find it anywhere.

Sophia: Maybe you forgot it in your home.

Elisa: No I kept it on the table. (After a pause) Table.. The table!!!

Sophia: What table!!

Elisa: Oh no. By mistake Sir picked up my diary (scared).

[As Sophia knew the whole matter about them she was scared too.]

Elisa: If Sir will open it, oh my God!! It was filled only about him (anxiously). No. No. I've to take it back before he opens my diary. Otherwise he'll hate me.

Sophia: Now what Elisa?

Elisa: I'll see you at college. Now I have to hurry.

[Elisa started running to the college on her breath.]

Sophia: Hey, don't run. Heyy...

[Those words didn't reach her.]

[The time was 12:15 pm.]

[Elisa reached the college gate. She was sweating and extremely panting.]

[A sentence flowed around her head.]

['5 Sips of OXYGEN' left.]

Elisa: (to herself) I don't care. (Panting)

[She again rushed to the 4th floor to go to the teachers' room. She was continuously panting. Then she peeped in the room.]

Elisa: Sir, could you please tell me where is Professor Cyrus?

The Professor: He is on the library.

Elisa: Ok, Thank you sir.

[On the other side, Cyrus was sitting in the library holding her diary. He was very surprised when he started reading the words, then the lines and then the pages. It was totally about him and she literally expressed her feelings for him.]

Cyrus: (whipers) Elisa. (Smiling)

[Within a second, Elisa rushed towards the library which is on the 5th floor.]

[After reading some pages he decided to go for his next class. At the door Cyrus knocked hardly with Elisa and she felt on the floor.]

Elisa: Uhhh....

Cyrus: You!! What are you doing here?

[Elisa was harshly panting and sweating and her face was totally red in anxiety.]

Cyrus: Why are you running like this? Come on tell me, Elisa.

[A sentence appeared on her head ]

['4 Sips of OXYGEN' left.]

Cyrus: What!! Only 4 sips!! (After a pause) Uhhh!! Could you please tell me what have you done with your Oxygen sips?

Elisa: Sir actually, I was (panting) running from Arden of Greenery to this floor.

Cyrus: But, what is the reason?

[Elisa looked at his hand and saw her diary. Within a second, she pulled it and grabbed it between her palms.]

Cyrus: For this!

[Elisa nodded her head.]

Cyrus: Are you literally insane or what? (Little anger) Huh? (After a pause) Do you've any idea what is the time? It is just 12:30 pm only. How can you survive till 11:00 pm?

Elisa: (very calmly) I don't know.

Cyrus: I told you na, that don't forget the rule. Then just for mistakely I'm picked up your diary?

Elisa: I'm sorry sir, but I'll go home and take a bed rest. That's why my remaining sips won't be finished.

Cyrus: Insane. You're just a insane.

[In his mind Cyrus was well known that, she can't survive till 11:00 pm with 3 sips.]

[The time was 7:30 pm]

[Cyrus wouldn't visit her because he knows the consequences but the lines of her diary repeatedly come into his mind.]

Cyrus: (in mind) Elisa, how can you so careless!! Just because a diary where you've expressed your feelings for me. What is wrong in it? Even I also...

[Suddenly he opens his eyes and goes upstairs to visit her.]

[He pushed the door lightly and noticed that she was sleeping. He smiled but at that moment the sentence flowed around her forehead.]

['1 Sip of OXYGEN' left.]

[All of his smiles had gone within a second and his eyes became teary. He kneeled down on the floor and stared at her for some time. Then he wiped the tears and went to his bedroom.]

[The time was 7:54 pm.]

[Cyrus sat down on the bed side and closed his eyes.]
