You look around but the windows are bare
You hear a sound but there's no one there

The other side of the bed is growing cold
Memories of his arms around you grow old

Now you wish that you begged him to stay
Alone in the dark, you're not safe until day
On your knees and pray

Invisible eyes everywhere stare
Anxiously you rip our your hair
Speak if you dare

There's a hand reaching out from under the bed
Never mind it's a slipper instead
It's all in your head

You hear a bang as somebody knocks
You slip and slide and turn all the locks

Fight or flight
Stay alive until light

Tap, tap, tap on the window pane
Breathing is the only thing keeping you sane

Whispers grow and mix in the dark
Back against the wall, you're prey for the shark

No one is safe in this make-believe hell
But no one will listen to the stories you tell

Fight
It's for your life, pick up your chin

Flight
Run away while you can, it's no sin
