HOW IT GOES
Lando Norris couldn't tell you about a time when he hadn't known Briar. Similarly he wouldn't be able to answer if he'd ever not been obsessed with Briar.
The girl who'd been his very best friend since he was a little boy, all the way to his career as a formula 1 driver, Briar was the constant in his life that certain things like school, an apartment, and sometimes his parents, hadn't been, couldn't.
It was lucky that with her career as an incredibly successful supermodel, it was easy for her to travel around, even more so with him. Whether the fates meant it or not, they were inseparable.
Maybe it was the fact that she'd been his sole companion, his only confidant, when he had no one but empty hotel rooms and champagne bottles to turn to, who'd been there for everything, that had made him fall for her. To Lando, however, it was more than that, his soul was bound to Briar's.
From the days of his childhood, with missing teeth and acne riddled face, Lando had known that Briar would be the fragment of light that lit his heart alight when darkness loomed, and the gentle breeze of air when the sun glared on to him mercilessly.
Briar was the sun in his solar system, and he orbited around her.
Yet as hard as he chases, Briar has drawn up walls that Lando has pushed relentlessly to no avail, all his flirting brushed off and ignored, but really, how can you show someone you love them when they don't believe that they're worthy of such affection?
