As Xaden sprinted through the dense forest, the sound of his pounding footsteps echoed among the trees. Nymeria, agile and quick, darted between the shadows, her silver cloak billowing behind her. Branches snapped and leaves rustled as Xaden closed in, determined to pin her down and claim victory. The exhilarating chase led them deeper into the heart of the woods, where sunlight filtered through the canopy above, casting dappled patterns on the forest floor. With every twist and turn, Nymeria displayed remarkable evasion skills, always slipping out of Xaden's grasp at the last moment. The race continued, a test of skill and strategy, as the two competitors weaved through the ancient trees in a dance of pursuit and evasion.

With a burst of speed and a final, daring leap, Xaden managed to close the gap between them. As Nymeria turned to glance back, a mischievous glint in her eye, Xaden's outstretched arms wrapped around her, and with a playful laugh, he gently tackled her to the ground. Nymeria's silver hair fanned out around her as she landed with a soft thud, a smile playing on her lips. Despite being caught, she was filled with a sense of exhilaration, the game of cat and mouse coming to an end. The forest around them seemed to hold its breath, the only sounds the rustling of leaves and the gentle laughter of the two friends, now sprawled on the mossy forest floor

As Xaden gazed down at Nymeria, a strand of her silver hair falling across her face, he reached out with a gentle touch to tuck it behind her ear. In that simple gesture, he realized just how mesmerizing she truly was. The dappled sunlight filtering through the canopy above painted a soft glow on her features, highlighting the sparkle in her eyes and the grace in her every movement. Time seemed to slow as they shared a fleeting moment of quiet understanding, the forest around them hushed in reverence. In that instant, Xaden saw beyond the playful facade, discovering a depth and beauty in Nymeria that captivated his heart. As the world around them faded into the background, a silent connection formed between them.

"You caught me." She mused.

"You're not very easy to catch anymore." With a gentle smile, Xaden looked down at Nymeria, who lay pinned beneath him, their eyes locked in a moment of quiet intensity. In a soft voice tinged with warmth, he whispered, "Nym," a nickname that felt both natural and endearing on his lips. The simple sound seemed to carry a world of unspoken emotions and uncharted territories, a bridge between their playful camaraderie and the unspoken depths of their connection. Nymeria's eyes widened slightly at the unexpected familiarity of the nickname, a flicker of surprise dancing in their depths before a soft smile graced her features.

"Nym?" She questioned playfully.

He simply nodded, pulling her to her feet again.

It had been a month since she arrived, he worked with her  everyday, slowly gaining ground before the alliance tournament.  She was growing, she was faster, she knew her surroundings, but there was still more that had to be done if she wanted to survive.

"Alright, so alliance battles are a key aspect of our training here in the forest. Essentially, it's when two teams of fighters join forces to take on a common enemy or complete a specific objective. The key is to work together with your teammates, communicate effectively, and strategize to win the battle."

"That sounds intense. How do you know who your allies are and who the enemy is?" Her yellow eyes looking up at him.

"Good question. Before the battle, each team is assigned a specific color or symbol to differentiate themselves from the other team. It's important to pay attention to these identifiers so you don't accidentally attack your own allies. Plus, there's usually a designated leader for each team who helps coordinate the strategy and keep everyone on the same page." He continued to explain as they walked back towards the safe city.

Nymeria shifted uncomfortably, her brow furrowed in concern as Xaden detailed the brutal battles that had taken place between rival alliances. The thought of such violence and bloodshed made her stomach churn, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of dread creeping over her.

She had always known that the world of alliances was a dangerous and cutthroat one, but hearing about the fierce battles and betrayals that had unfolded only served to reinforce that reality. The idea of being caught up in such a dangerous game, where trust was a luxury and survival was far from guaranteed, was a daunting prospect.

As Xaden continued to speak, Nymeria's unease only grew. She couldn't shake the feeling that the shadows were closing in around her, and that in this treacherous world, anyone could be an enemy in disguise. She knew she would have to tread carefully and stay vigilant if she hoped to navigate the perils of alliance warfare unscathed.
