Ruhaani returns home after taking her first exam. She seems sad and when Mrinal asks her the reason, she hugs her while the lady smears her head. She knows that Ruhaani might be missing her mother.

“ Ruhaani upset kyun hai? Ma ki yaad aa rahi hain?” She asks, gently stroking her hair.

“Haan, vo hamesha mere sath rehti hain, ye pehli baar hain jo wo yahan nahi hai

“Haan, vo hamesha mere sath rehti hain, ye pehli baar hain jo wo yahan nahi hai.” She replies sadly.

“Aw, par main toh hoon na. Aur apni Mumma ko London bhejne wali bhi toh tum hi thi naa? Ruhana ne hi bataya ki tumne usey convince kiya.” Mrinal tries to convince her.

“Haan, Dadi. Par I miss her. Mujhe Mumma se baat karni hain.” Ruhaani whispers, still clinging to the old lady.

“Achcha thik hain, teri mumma ke phone aane ka time ho hi raha hain. Ek kaam kar, tu fresh ho ja, main khana lagati hoon, phir Mumma se baat karenge.” Mrinal suggests and Ruhaani just nods.

Mrinal watches the girl and as she gets up to leave, she holds her hand and makes her sit near her. Ruhaani glances at Mrinal who holds her hand and squeezes it lightly.

”Dekh, beta, teri Ma ki jagah toh main obviously nahi le sakti. Par tujhe yahan akela mehsus karne ki zaroorat nahi hai, bache. Tum udaas rahogi toh tumhari Ma ka bhi kaam mein mann nahi lagega.”

“Main bhi ek Ma hoon, aaj bhi jab Vineet kahin bahar jaata hai toh mujhe chinta hoti hain, aur teri Ma toh itni door London gayi hain

“Main bhi ek Ma hoon, aaj bhi jab Vineet kahin bahar jaata hai toh mujhe chinta hoti hain, aur teri Ma toh itni door London gayi hain. Tu aise udaas hogi toh usey bhi pata chal jayega aur vo apna kaam thik se nahi kar paayegi.” Mrinal explains.

“Tum itni samajhdaar ho, phir yun udaas hona achcha nahi lagta, beta. Teri Ma ye sab teri khushi ke liye kar rahi hain. Teri khushi isme thi ki wo London jaaye, isliye wo wahan gayi hain. Toh udaas hoke nahi khushi se baat karo.” Mrinal explains softly.

Ruhaani listens to her and she’s reminded of all the words that she said to her mother. She only persuaded her to go ahead, grab the opportunity, and work. Now, she’s being sad, and Ruhaani doesn’t want to upset her mom. At the same time, her phone rings and Ruhaani is surprised to see “Ma” flashing on the screen. She attends the call but before she can say, her mom’s concerned voice falls in her ears.
