as cliche as it sounds, I still reread our old texts, & go through the posts you'd sent me, and the way you'd mail me voice messages day-to-day, just to make sure I was okay.
"So close yet so far", I think I've finally comprehended the implication of this line; because it's just heartbreaking how we seem to intersect paths fairly often, but as strangers.
As if we didn't share a history.
And sometimes it gets hard keeping a facade, playing pretend with someone that I've known for almost a decade.
Taking you for granted and look at me now all wounded.
Every time our gazes meet, and you look away,
I feel my soul shatter midway.
And I guess you're just another story I'll have to forget, even if it indicates burning the pages.
