The strong wind pushes the curtain upward and it dances like it was being swayed by an unnatural force but it was just the wind. The cold breeze went inside with little droplets of water. It was a fine day then it started pouring like crazy.

Her gaze went outside and saw the trees standing still but their branches and leaves were dancing with the wind. The raindrops were bigger than the natural ones they often see and created a loud series of thuds on the windows and the roof of their house. A smile slowly formed in her lips when she remembered someone with very sensitive ears. She's always wearing headphones or any device on her ears to prevent headaches due to the loud sounds.

A loud knock takes her out of the memory, she immediately moves to close the window but not before the freezing drops of water sprayed on her neck and arms. Her serious expression suddenly diminished when she saw her mother holding the piece of paper hidden in a white envelope. She smiled and a giggle escaped her lips.

She's known for being composed and serious all the time. She couldn't change it even if she tried but that changed when she met the woman. A writer, a hopeless romantic, a kind and protective woman. Every word that comes out of the woman's mouth could literally make her go out of poise.

"A letter came by. Mukhang galing sa kasulatan mo." She cleared her throat and nodded.

"Did you drink your meds?"

The bitter taste of the medicines invaded her mouth and it made her want to gag and throw up but she ignored it and let it flow down on her throat until it was gone. She opened her mouth to let her mother see. The satisfaction and worry in her mother's eyes are already normal for her. She sees it everyday ever since she got sick.

"Here. Make sure you don't open that window again."

She excitedly jumped on her bed and opened the envelope to read the letter inside it. She sniffed the paper and smiled. It was a habit of that woman to spray her perfume on the letters because she loves it.

It may look old-fashioned but she likes it.
