I contacted my professors about my assault and that I wouldn't be able to attend classes. They understood and contacted one individual from my classes to send me the notes. I stayed out of school for a week. The Weibo drama had spread even more since Li Zhen got revealed as the creator.
I texted her small encouragements here and there but haven't held a full conversation as Lán yuán is stuck to my side. Si had also been visiting everyday. He said he was worried about my healing process both mentally and physically.
Today would be my first day back. Coincidentally, Lei would be returning from France today as well. He, Meizuo and Ximen picked me up after Lei explained he was my friend and had to see me in person after the incident.
He originally said nothing about my state as he looked me over. He simply poked my cheek with a smile and we left. It was almost like he never left. We caught up with one another during my break. As Jing paid him no mind, I facetimed him to paint nearly every morning.
I sat in the backseat with him on the way to school. I was showing him my current sketchbook as I had recently started a new one. I asked him for suggestions on what I should decorate the cover as. He popped out: whales as his answer.
I smiled and started sketching on a page some sea creatures. Lei watched as my pencil glided along the page. We made our way to the courtyard after arrival. Lán yuán was already in class as she had her twice a month council meeting.
Lei held my wrist as we approached Si and Shancai, who looked to be arguing yet again.
"Ah Si, you're supposed to give her the new phone, not take her other one." Ximen said.
"I'm not taking anything from her." He grumpily turned to us before noticing his returned friend. "Lei!" He greeted.
Lei smiled, "hi. I'm back." Si frowned looking at his friend's hand on my wrist. I looked back at Lei who stared at Shancai. I nudged him. "Shancai, long time no see." He specifically greeted her.
She smiled while staring back, "welcome back."
Si came over and pulled me from Lei. "How do you know Chen ai?" He asked.
"We're classmates. We've been friends since last year." He revealed to Si.
"How come you've never said anything?" Si complained.
"Maybe I wanted her to myself." Lei teased as Si glared.
"Well, she's my girlfriend now." Si loudly claimed. I looked at him weirdly.
"When did I agree to that?" I asked him.
"I thought Shancai was your girlfriend." Meizuo exclaimed with a smirk.
"Wow, cheating already Ah Si?" I teased.
"Stop ganging up on me!" He yelled.
"Either way, what a pity." Lei said. Shancai blushed as I rolled my eyes. Si was gonna have a heart attack.
