JING-HAI WAKES IN A POOL OF COLD SWEAT, the night sky stars still shining. She doesn't recall right away where she is and panic sets into her body. Her muscles seize, rigid with cramps, and her heart seems to beat in her head. She almost screams but the terror she feels surpasses sound. Instead, the girl stills. The memories of her torture bleed in at once and Jing-hai was trembling all over. She glanced up into the tree body to find everything the same. Nobody there. Just the moon and it was staring back at her ━━━━━━ the silver light catching in her hair. Jing-hai shivers in the biting breeze. She didn't even remember falling asleep. But what she did remember, now rather suddenly, was the Blue Spirit.
Where was he?
When Jing-hai feels around in the dark, he is lost.
The waterbender gets this awful feeling like perhaps she made the whole thing up. Like maybe he was never real. Just a stupid manifestation of her pleas for a hero. But then she hears rustling and snaps her head to the left.
