Carter stood when I walked into the living room again and looked at me, his eyes filled with worry. He didn't say a word while he dipped his head closer to his chest, silently asking if I was ok..

I bit back a small sigh and shook my head, silently telling him that it wasn't worth it. "Are you coming with me?" I asked and raised an eyebrow, and he nodded in confirmation.

"I am," he confirmed verbally before he cleared his throat and grew serious while he raised an eyebrow in question. "Come, come," he said and gestured for me to go outside so that we could wait for Zën there. "Is he near?"

I bit back a small sigh and shrugged before I grimaced, not in the mood to have a smart ass conversation with him. I didn't say a word while I bit the inside of my lip, not knowing if I wanted to see if he was near.

Carter bit back a small chuckle and dipped his head closer to his chest. Amusement filled his eyes while he studied me. "Come on, Synnie Bear," he teased, and I scowled and narrowed my eyes. "Contact Zën, and see where he is at. See if he will come to you so that you two can train together some more."

I bit back a small sigh and shook my head. "But I don't want to, Carter," I said tiredly before I moved a hand across my face and shook my head again. "He is going to have a smart ass comment when I contact him."

"So?"

I raised an eyebrow in question while I pressed my lips into a thin line. "So?" I asked. "What do you mean by so?"

"So? I think you should do it," he said, "at least try to make sure that you know where he is."

I held back an eye roll while I scowled and narrowed my eyes.

Finally, I sighed and relented while I shook my head. "Fine," I grumbled. "Just know that I don't like it."

"Hmph," Carter said and bit back a small smirk. He didn't say a single word while he looked at me, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes and scowl before I turned my attention away from him.

Like before, I took a deep breath and released it before I closed my eyes and pushed against the link between Zën and I.

Quickly, and with a groan, Zën answered. "What?" he asked with bitter disgust and annoyance in his voice, and I opened my eyes and scowled while I looked at Carter, and Carter grinned while he dipped his head closer to his chest, amused. "What do you want?"

"Where are you?" I asked. "Are you close?"

Again, Zën groaned, and I rolled my eyes and scowled before I narrowed them, not liking his response. "I am," he said, and I couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief, grateful that I didn't have to repeat myself. "I am unfortunately close to you all. Why?"

I breathed another small sigh of relief, and I slowly nodded. "Ok," I said before I looked at Carter. "He's close."

Carter nodded. "Good," he said before he cleared his throat and shifted on his feet. "Now, come, let's go to the spot where he can land, and you two can practice."

I held back an eye roll before I slowly nodded. "Fine," I grumbled before I started to go toward the spot where he could land, and Carter chuckled before he followed me.

"Come on," he teased. "You don't need to act like this, Synnie Bear," he said before he cleared his throat again. "He'll be able to help make you feel better."

I couldn't help but roll my eyes and scowl before I narrowed my eyes and pursed my lips in annoyance. "Very funny," I grumbled, and he chuckled while he dipped his head closer to his chest.
