Afterword

McKane is finally getting an anime adaptation!

I truly have no words of gratitude for all the readers who have nurtured this work to this point.

I have had the opportunity to speak with the staff, and I have no doubt that something wonderful is in the works, so please look forward to it!

Now, let me express my gratitude once again for the journey we've taken so far.

As you all know, light novels are a combination of text and illustrations. The dedicated editor, Ms. Iwaasa, who patiently dealt with me, believing without a doubt that Hana Nami was a "conventional heroine" until around the second volume. And to the incredible artist, Imigimuru who gave life to the characters, vividly painting the world. I will forever be in your debt.

And to the editorial team that supported the publication, including proofreaders who meticulously checked every detail and designers who created beautiful covers and bands – this book has been made possible with the support of many individuals.

From being printed to reaching the shelves through various channels and finally into the hands of supportive readers – each step is connected. I believe it is this interconnectedness that has brought about the realization of the anime adaptation this time.

My heartfelt thanks to all involved parties.

Also, I want to express my sincere appreciation for the warm support from the readers in Mikawa.

During my high school days, the sight of McKane lined up at the Seibunkan Bookstore, a place I visited almost every day after school, felt like a dream.

Thanks to such miracles, the second collaboration with JR Tokai has been decided for 2024!

This is also the result of the enthusiasm of participants who led the success of the first collaboration and the dedication of those involved in planning and operations.

It will be a delightful event, so please come and visit Toyohashi! The McKane corners at Melon Books and Animate are also very charming, so be sure to check them out when you drop by!

Now, onto the customary short story at the end.

In a corner of Tsubaki High School, two people who should never have met...
