My light
My joy
My love
My child
Brought to this world
My heart, beguiled

I hoped
I dreamed
I waited
I styled
But alas, this world
You would never roam wild

Your breath was taken
From out of your lungs
Your heartbeat, once strong
It no longer drums

Oh, but the pain
I do feel in my heart
Is the strongest of tethers
We never shall part

For though I do lay you
Down into this earth
I will never let go
Of the child I birthed

Stay close, my dear one
To my heart, you can see
It shines for your spirit
I don't want to be free

If my life, I could trade
I would never think twice
To bring back my precious child
My love and my light

Still there you lay
Ice cold in the sun
No hope of return
No thing can be done

So listen to me now
Listen good, listen well
As I say the words "I love you"
At the final tolling of the bell

My sweet
My gift
My hope
My child
I release the first earth
On which the rest will be piled

Be still
Be at peace
Be missed
Be undefiled
For one day I will join you
My beloved lost child
