The new Berk now had houses all around and was covered in snow

It was a lot quieter now due to the lack of dragons

Everyone was gathered around to watch the wedding of Astrid and (y/n). Valka, Gobber and Hiccup were stood behind (y/n) whereas Astrid's parents were stood behind him

Astrid held his hands out for his partner to take as he smiled at her

She smiled and laughed slightly while placing her hands in his

The old women wrapped the pairs hands in a white cloth with golden embroidery.

Gobber cried and wiped his tears with the flower bouquet as Hiccup patted his shoulder

The old woman held up her staff and nodded with approval

Astrid cupped (y/n)'s cheeks as the two kissed to seal their marriage

"To the chief and chieftess!" A man announced

The crowd all cheered and Gobber through the bouquet of flowers which landed in Erets hands

Snotlout began crying and tuffnut rolled his eyes
"Come cry into my full, thick beard."

Fishlegs also shed many tears
"Oh, it's so beautiful!"

"Gross." Ruffnut slouched

Fishlegs hugged Ruffnut and she smiled as she hugged him back
"Okay, you win. I like sensitive guys."

"Oh I thought this would never happen."

"Finally, right?"

...

The newlyweds stood hand in hand as their friends and family began gathering around them

(Y/n) leaned her head on Astrids shoulder as he placed his head on top of hers

...

"there were dragons when I was a boy."

There was an older man and a young blonde boy. Hiccup now had a beard and was holding his nephew in his arms

"Ah, there were great, grim sky dragons that nested on the clifftop like gigantic, scary birds."

He helped the child to push down the lever

"Little brown, scuttle dragons that hunted down the mice and rats in well-organised packs."

An older Astrid was pulling the ropes of the boat as (y/n) was holding their oldest child

"Preposterously huge sea dragons that were 20 times as big as the big blue whale."

Hiccup passed his nephew to the child's father as the family looked at what was ahead of them

"Some say they crawled back into the sea, leaving not a bone nor a fang for men to remember them by."

The fog was beginning to part infront of them as Hiccup narrowed his eyes

"Others say they were nothing but folktales to begin with."

A creature sprung up and sniffed around, spotting the approaching boat

"And, I'm okay with that."

There was also a female and three babies

Hiccup smiled upon seeing who it was

"Is that..." (y/n) trailed off

"It is." Hiccup said as he watched the dragon

Toothless landed on the front of the boat and stared at the family

Hiccup held his hand out "Hey there, bud."

The dragon stalked closer and sniffed Hiccups hand

The children got scared as they hid behind their parents

"It's okay." Astrid reassured his kids

(Y/n) walked closer and to her brother's side. The dragon sniffed around her and then tackled the two siblings

"Hey, we are glad to see you too, bud."

Astrid laughed with relief
"He's not going to eat your uncle or mother."

Toothless pinned the two to the ground and began licking them all over

"How's the tail holding up? Probably could use some oil and a little fine-tuning."

"Look, it's okay. They're friends." Astrid told the kids

(Y/n) gestured for her kids to come over as she held her hand out for them to take

"Here." Hiccup called his niece and nephew.

The daughter looked absolutely terrified
"Go on. Its absolutely alright." Astrid encouraged

"He won't hurt you." Hiccup told them

"Hold your hands out." (Y/n) Instructed as she softly guided their hands

"Like this. That's it."

Toothless looked at them
"Let him come to you."

The dragon closed his eyes and placed his head on their hands as the kids laughed

...

Hiccup, Astrid and (y/n) had their dragons back and they were all flying together, but this time with children

The light Fury also joined them with the baby dragon's following after them

"Legends say that when the ground quakes or lava spews from the earth, its the dragons letting us know they're still here, waiting for us to figure out how to get along."

The kids jumped from dragon to dragon and the twins raced each other like they used to

"Yes, the world believes the dragons are gone, but we Berkians, we know otherwise. And we'll guard this secret u till the time comes when dragons can return in peace.
