Velvet stayed as far away from Veneer as she could. She couldn't help but despise him after what he did to her. He took all of their fame away! How could he do that to her? She took care of him when their parents died. She didn't deserve this. She deserved to be up on stage singing. "Hey Vel," one of the inmates said with a lopsided smile. "Hey," Velvet grumbled. "You still mad at Veneer?" she asked. "Of course I am! He took all of our fame away! We were amazing! He just had to ruin it all!" she yelled. "Wow. Uhm, anyways. Did you know that he had a visitor earlier?" the inmate asked. Velvet turned to her with a shocked and annoyed expression. "Not until you told me," she grumbled. She sighed and she crawled into her uncomfortable bed. She couldn't help but cry herself to sleep. She felt utterly betrayed and heartbroken.

Veneer was being escorted by two guards. Neither of them held him, since he was always compliant. It had already been a month since he spilled their secret. He never felt guilty about what he had done. He knew that it needed to be done. He felt awful that he hurt Velvet but there was nothing he could do. He kept his head down as the three walked back to his cell. He went to his bed and sat there. His mind raced as many thoughts filled his head all at once. He couldn't help but cry.

He laid his head in his hands. His knees were against his chest. He hated what he had done to Floyd and his brothers. Why did he even let Velvet control him? He couldn't believe that Floyd even talked to him again. How could Floyd ever forgive him? When would Velvet ever talk to him? He knew that he was a traitor. He had done unforgivable things to Floyd and his brothers. His hair wasn't as bad as it could be. It was fairly messy and curly. He knew he would have to get a haircut, which he wasn't looking forward to.

The next day was dull. Everyone had their small circles of friends. Velvet already had friends. Veneer didn't really talk to anyone, even though he sat with 3 other people. There was 2 women and one other guy. They always let him sit with them but never talked to him. Veneer never minded. He was used to being in Velvet's shadow anyways. She always had to be in the spotlight. She would get jealous and angry when he would be in the spotlight, no matter how long it was. She only liked him being in the spotlight when she put him in it. She always knew how to make him uncomfortable.

He never wanted to hurt others for his own success. He wished that he stood up to Velvet a long time ago. He knew that he couldn't go back in time to fix his mistakes. He still couldn't believe all the things he did just for fame. He took responsibility for what he had done because he just had to. He knew that it wasn't right to put all the blame on his sister. After all, she took care of him. She didn't have to take care of him but still did. He would never forget the things she did for him.

Veneer was taken to the visitation room. There were a few visitors there. Veneer really didn't want to talk to anyone. He felt horrible. He had a seizure a few nights ago which was pretty bad. He got sick as well. It lasted for about 20 minutes, which landed him a visit to the hospital. Nobody came to visit him. It upset him but nothing could've been done differently. He went to one of the seats and it was Branch. Veneer couldn't help but feel sick. He was extremely fidgety. "Uhm...Floyd wanted to talk to you and stuff. He's on his way," Branch said and looked down at his hands. Floyd came shortly after with a huge smile on his face.

Floyd knew something was off. He wanted to help Veneer. He could tell that he went through something. The eye bags were more prominent than they were before. He looked like he was sick or exhausted. He honestly couldn't tell which one it was. "Are you feeling okay?" Branch asked. "Huh? Uhm. Yeah. I guess," Veneer replied with a shrug. "He's definitely not okay," Branch whispered into Floyd's ear. "You just found that out?" Floyd asked with a small laugh. Branch huffed in response. He smiled and got up to leave. "I'll stay for a bit longer and talk to Veneer alone, okay?" Floyd said and Branch smiled. He knew that Floyd would be okay. Veneer wasn't nearly as awful as Velvet was either.
