Wings of Liberty

(Poem)

Above the skies of an open flight,
She saw freedom where it took its height,
But she was impounded within the corners of her room,
That surrounded her with hopelessness and an endless gloom

Like birds caught and put in cages,
She was a companion of solitude for  ages,
Confided with no one but loneliness
And found solace not from anyone but darkness

She sang chanteys of all the songbirds,
Professing feelings beyond the tapestry of words,
Between the lines are yearnings for liberty,
And the denouement of her perpetual agony

She wished for wings brushed by winds, untamed,
And soar the realm where freedom is proclaimed,
Dreams laid beneath the horizon's gleam,
Wings of liberty flew towards the sun's beam,
