He didn't know this. 

And by the look on Henry's face, he didn't either.

They sit in the silence for a second. Until...

Henry bursts out in laughter. Full on tears. This time, happy

Alex waits for the punchline but Henry keeps going

"I'm completely mortified" Alex states, just resulting in Henry laughing louder

"I'm so sorry Hen" He continues, looking down. 

Henry slows the cheer, outstreching his arms, waiting 

Alex with tears rolling, dives in. He missed this. 

Nestled on his shoulder, he says,

"This shouldn't have ever happened"

Henry stiffens, with his head lying by his curls

"I know, dear. For what its worth, I shouldn't have told you something so big without you being here. " He latches off "With me"

Alex looks into his tender eyes, holding Henry's hand in his. 

"So, are we..." He circles his ring finger.

Henry glances at him, whose focus seems to be in his finger now. Phew

He moves his hand up, along with the other, to Alex's jaw. Raising it to his eyeline 

"Are we what?" 

Alex smirks. He's making sure there's no room for error.

He screws his face slightly, playing with Henry 

"Together"

In response, Henry's eyes widen and jaw expands

"Wait!!!" He bites his bottom lip, in fake disbelief "You mean, US??"

Alex chuckles until his breath slows. He closens in, til his forehead meets Henrys and hangs there. They shifts theirs eyes, until they are in coordination with one another. He whispers 

"Make me yours "

Henry expression flattens, yet still looking. He notices Alex's heart is racing. He still thinks he isn't his.

"Hear me out" Henry starts "I put you through more than anyone should ever endure. And a lifetime of sorry's could never come close to how guilty about I feel for it all. Nora texted me that night."

Alex tries to hide, only to be met with the reassurance he needed in Henry's eyes.

"I'll always wonder what could've happened. And I wouldn't have been there."

A tear jets out "My point is, for as long as I'm left I've got left this lifetime, I want to be with you. So, Alex, to answer your actual question.."

He moves his palm to Alex's chest

"I'm not leaving"
