The next couple weeks went past quickly. After the episode that occurred at the beach, I got my cast redone and everything was pretty chilled out and quiet.

It was now Friday and I had got my cast off yesterday. It feels so good to be able to use my hand again. I was chucking my books into my locker when strong warm arms wrap around my waist. I'm cuddled into a warm chest with the familiar scent I have come to love.

"Hey, how was your day?" Corey's voice is husky and chirpy. The perfect combination.

"I'm good, what about you?" I reply with a huge grin plastered on my face.

"Actually, we need to talk," he replies, his face turned serious. My heart drops into my stomach at those four words. We. Need. To. Talk.

I nod and Corey leads me outside the gates of the school. We walk a little way, towards the beach. It's not until the salty smell of the ocean, invades my nostrils that I realise, the beach is where he is taking me.

Corey turns and stops me in my tracks. He looks really nervous which is making me worry. He inhales deeply and releases a breath. He begins to take his shoes off, so I do the same.

"Okay, April. I need to ask you something really important," I nod and swallow the huge lump forming in my throat. Corey begin to walk towards the water. He stops at the shoreline, so the water is swirling over his feet.

He looks into my eyes with adoration and I return it. He begins to shift his stance and bends down on one knee. He pulls a rose from behind his back. His eyes begin to water a bit.

"April? Will you be my girlfriend?"

"Are you crying?" I can't hide the amusement in my tone. A small giggle escapes my lips.

"No! I pricked my finger!" he pouts and I almost melt. That is by far, the most gorgeous thing he has ever done.

"Seriously?!" His expression changed from the pout to shocked.

"Woah, okay. Way to let me down easy," he sounded disappointed but covered it up with a nervous cough.

"What? No! No, no! Yes! I'll be your girlfriend! Corey! I thought you wanted to tell me something bad! I got worried!"

"Oh! Ha! Oops," I giggle and take the rose. I even add a little curtesy in. He chuckles at my immaturity. Once he stands up I shove his chest, causing him to fall back and land in the water. He is now soaking wet. A mischievous grin creeps onto his lips. I realise what his about to do and my eyes widen. I stumble up the sand but Corey's arms snake around my waist as he throws me over his shoulder.

I squeal and giggle whilst squirming, trying to get out of his grasp.

"Now it's your turn to go for a swim!" he yelled evilly.

"No! Corey please don't! My mum will kill you! This is my favourite shirt!"

He stops walking for a moment. The water is trailing up to his knees now.

"Really? That... is your favourite shirt?"

"What?" I complain in a whiny voice. "Green Lantern is awesome!" He chuckled and my hands fell in defeat.

"Ready for your swim?"

"Do I have a choice?"

"Nope"

I groan audibly, knowing that I'm about to get drenched. He swings me over his shoulder, so my legs are wrapped around his waist. I wrap my arms around his neck and cling to him like a little monkey.

I really don't want him to drop me. I need to think of a way to distract him and I need to think fast. Suddenly out of nowhere, I crash my lips against his. His grip loosens on my body and he doesn't do anything. For a moment I'm scared he is going to reject me. A couple of seconds later, he responds to the kiss. His grip around my waist tightens and he deepens the kiss. His tongue brushes my bottom lip but the moment is interrupted when I'm surrounded by water and my head goes under the water.
