When Shira Levi boarded the plane for Arizona State University, she didn't plan on returning home again. And yet, two months after graduation and unable to score a job, she's found herself right back where she started. After four years of practicing burying memories and putting the past behind her, she's convinced she can handle this; just a few months and then she'll find a job and get out of there. Of course, that would be a lot easier if her window wasn't directly across from Noah Li's.
Noah Li didn't ever expect to see Shira's face looking back at him from her window, not after four years of absolute emptiness staring back at him. But she's finally there at the same time he is, and that has to mean something. And she can close her curtain every time to avoid seeing him, but he's not about to let that stop him.
Shira isn't sure how, but between big brown eyes and apologies, Noah Li sweeps her up, just like old times. Neither of them talks about the past that hangs between them, and the more time she spends with him, the more time she begins spending in the present, and Noah is her present. But some things can only stay buried for so long, and neither is prepared when their past explodes in their faces, forcing them to face what they both so desperately have been avoiding.
