"Rosetta?.....Rose! Are you even listening to me?"

I suppressed the urge to roll my eyes and turned my gaze towards my social worker. Don't get me wrong, I love her to pieces but she could get really annoying really fast. I smiled a little too sweetly at her and pretended to be hurt.

"Of course I am!Why in heaven's sake I wouldn't? Oh...I know...maybe because you've been drilling me ever since we left the airport! "

I didn't mean to yell but she was really driving me crazy...but my mood quickly changed when I looked into her tear brimmed eyes. I sighed.

"I'm so sorry Emily."

I sniffled and my voice started to waver..

" I'm just so tired and scared....I promise that I will try my hardest not to act like a total animal when I get there! But it's just so hard after what I've been through."

I swallowed a sob. Can I really get through this week without lashing out at somebody in anger? I felt the car stop and arms reach out to hug me! A single tear fell from my eye.

"Oh sweetheart....I know that you will! Because even though you've been through so much lately, I know the old Rosetta is still there! She just needs time to recuperate after a nasty fall! Just take it easy...ok?"

I nodded my head, because truthfully I did not trust my voice to hold up!

"Now how bout giving me a nice old smile to boost my spirits up and set me on my way!"

Surprisingly it was not hard to do that. Maybe Emily is right! Maybe I just need to really give myself time to mend. As if knowing what I was thinking, Emily turned towards me and grinned:

"Sweetheart I'm always right!"

We both let out a howl of laughter and I barely gasped out:

"Shoots, are you psychic or something?"

She gave me a mischievous grin and with that we made our way to Lovehill,Texas...my new home!

"Hey Rose?....You might want to get up and see this!"

I woke up to the sound of Emily talking on and on about how the scenery was breathtakingly amazing...but nothing could've prepared me for what I was about to see!!

"WOW!!! Are we at the right place? Am I actually going to live here?"

Emily just grinned at me. I knew I sounded like an over excited four year old but I just couldn't help myself!!! Technically we were not even at the house yet...we were driving down the driveway that was shaded with hundreds of Oak trees. On each side of us were rolling plains with cattles and horses grazing and galloping as far as the eye can see!! We also saw a few workers working on the crops in the fields as well. They waved merrily at us and I couldn't help but wave back with the same enthusiasm.

"Well I'm glad to see you're getting along just find with everybody!" Emily smirked.

I playfully glared at her.

" You don't have to remind me about the pain I was getting here, but come on ....do you know what is to be moving from Missouri all the way to fricken Texas! But still you don't have to worry about ME being a pain anymore! 'Cause if the yard looks like this I can't imagine how the...."

But before I even got to finish my sentence there was a clearing of the trees and then I saw just what I was wondering...and trust me it was nowhere near what the actual house looked like!!! If you could even call it that! My mouth hung open as I looked towards Emily who just continued to smirk like she knew a secret I didn't know!

Two massive Oak trees was bending towards each other forming an arch and attached to them was a 12ft brass gate that held....what I assumed....the family's crest! But the beauty of the whole land was what was behind those gates!

" Rosetta? You may have gone through a lot in your past but I can truly say that you have a bright future ahead of you! Please for me...don't screw this up! Because I had to pull a few cards and strings to get you where you are and I do not want to regret it!"

I nodded dumbly because the sun was almost set and the lawn lights were casting such pretty colors on the house that I couldn't even think straight! That is...until what Emily said finally registered in my head.

"W-what do you mean 'pull a few cards and strings'?"

She sighed.

"I can't tell you everything right now because you are already worrying about to many things....but what I can do is welcome you!"

"WELCOME ME?!!"

She just grinned that mischievous grin of hers and it took all that I had not to wipe it clean of her face. She must have read the expression on my face because she stopped grinning but couldn't help but smile when she said:

"Welcome to Twin Oaks,Rose."

And for my clarification she added:

"My home!"
