Unrequited Love

You place me in the corner

Next to your perfect summer day

With cotton candy for eyes

I call to out to you to play.

Your limbs stretch like vines

I am your abandoned home

My windows are cracked and dirty

Yet faithful I hope you’ll come.

The hinges on the door sing

My sonnet of innocence lost

I stalk the shadows like a ghost

A ballet for the king of frost.

Through mirrors I see you and her

Joined laughter like bliss and birds

The rain streaming down the windows

Is a pathway I cried when I heard.
