CHAPTER 6 THE ROYAL COURT IS IN

KING DAVID'S POV

We are all in place except for Princess Rae who is bringing Michael when the doors open. I am sitting in the center with my beautiful Queen Eve to my right and to her right is Prince Von, to my left is Prince William and to his left is Princess Rae's empty seat. As soon as the doors open I extend my royal septor which gives them permission to enter. If I don't do this it is instant death to all parties trying to enter.

When they finally get to us Princess Rae curtsies while Michael bows. I immediately tap Princess Rae on both shoulders and with a smile ask her to join us on the platform.

Before I can extend the septor to Michael I hear a vibration. There are no electronic devices allowed in this room. Well that is except one that both Queen Eve and I have, but it has never brought good news and it rings so infrequent. When I realize what it must be my heart stops. The only ones who have that number are the Secret Royal Guard and Maria herself. Why is Eve's going off and not mine? I look at the face of my wife and beautiful mate of 314 years and see absolute panic written all over her face. The only other time I have seen that look was when our beautiful baby girl was stolen from us. I give Eve a nod to check and see what it is. She looks at this cell and sees she has a missed call from Maria. (At this point Eve has completely opened her mind and vision to me) The phone is vibrating again with a text.

About this time I feel the panic setting in with Michael. He is still bowed before us. I don't know if he senses something with Maria or if its because I still haven't extended the septor toward him due to my attention being dawn away. I quickly extend the septor and tap him on his shoulders.

"Michael why do I feel a sudden panic radiating from you? Is there something wrong?" In my mind I an almost begging him not to tell me that he has felt something along the mate bond.

"Well...Your Majesty...it took you so long ..." instant relief is all I felt at the moment. I didn't even hear what else he was saying.

"Excuse me Michael. I am sorry I caused you to panic but the Queen has just receive a phone call on her phone reserved for the Royal Family and the Secret Royal Guard. Seeing as most of the Royal Family is here, it startled us. The reason you are here is because of your stubbornness. It can be both a good thing and a bad thing. This time your stubbornness has caused the Royal Family as well as all the werewolf world some complications. So we must deal with it. Please bare with me for just a moment as I check with your Queen to see what the text said." I tell him with relief.

While I am speaking with Michael I can suddenly feel both absolute relief and joy radiating from my mate. I also feel her mind questioning what is going on. She turns the phone screen toward me so I can see one of the most beautiful text I have ever seen. Maria is asking to come for a visit.

QUEEN EVE'S POV

Upon hearing and feeling the vibrations from that phone, I know I went into a panic. The last time this phone rang it was to tell me of Mary's impending death. You see it is a very special device. Since we do not have the wolf connection to Maria that we have with the rest of our children one of our grandsons developed this little device. It does several things other than just receiving phone calls and text. Each member of the Secret Royal Guard as well as Maria have a nanochip embedded in them that gives off a signal when their heart rate either shoots over 200 or drops below 40. Once that happens we have the option of monitoring it as well as their exact location is displayed. I don't know how Steven did it but he was able to fix it so we can tell the emotional state of the person as well. When the alarms would go off we would get all kind of vital information as well as what other guard members were present, if none were who was the closest. My mate held a link to the entire werewolf world whereas mine was only to my bloodline and their mates.
