Story 2 : THE PRICE

"Haan... haan okay! okay! Naina to sunn kar khush ho jayegi.",

smiles Rajveer over the call.

"Haan batata hoon usse main abhi.",

he says.

Still smiling, Rajveer turns to look towards Naina. His smile fades and gradually exits his face as soon as he discovers her staring up towards the first floor of their home.

Rajveer follows his gaze to notice what is she staring at but finds nothing significant there to stare at.

"Hmmm!",

he replies, suddenly disinterested in continuing the conversation he is having with Alekh.

"Theek hai Alekh, tum sub jaldi aa jao. Bohot....",

taking a deep breath, clearing his mind, Rajveer continues,

"Bohot sari baatein karni hain.",

he smiles, but the smile doesn't reach his eyes!

"Apun ko bhi Sir....",

Alekh turns to look towards Neelu, who is deep in her thoughts.

"...bohot kuch batana hai aapko.",

completes Alekh, wryly.

Alekh tears his gaze away from Neelu and focuses back on his conversation with Rajveer.

Taking a deep breath, in a fresh tone, Alekh says,

"Baad mein baat karta hai apun aapse Sir, milkar."

"Alright Alekh. Bye.",

smiles Rajveer.

"Bye Sir.",

smiles Alekh.

"Oye Sameera tu ab tak taiyar nahi hui? Jana nahi hai Phoolan aur Rajveer Sir se milne?",

asks Huda, disappointed.

"Haan Huda jana hai.",

replies Sameer, engrossed in searching something in the cupboard and side table's drawers.

"Huda tumne... tumne meri dawayi dekhin hain kya?",

asks Sameera, exasperated.

"Konsi dawayi?",

asks Huda, knitting his brows, wearing his watch.

"Anxiety ki!",

replies Sameera, still searching here and there.

That comes as a surprise for Huda.

Holding her by her upper arm Huda forces Sameera to look towards himself and asks her,

"Maine kaha tha na tu wo dawayi ab nahi legi? Kya zaroorat hai tujhe unn dawaiyon ki?"

Cupping her face with his hands, Huda talks to her calmly,
