The Other Half

chapter four.

Aimee's POV

We finally arrived at the zoo after our quick stop at McDonald's. I felt like a kid and wanted to run everywhere and see everything. I didn't know where to go first. Charlotte and Keegan were far in front of me.

I ran to catch up with them. My head poked between theirs and my arms wrapped around their shoulders, "where should we go first?"

Charlotte shrugged, "it doesn't really matter to me."

Since she didn't have a suggestion, I turned to Keegan. "What do you want to see?"

Keegan placed his finger on his mouth and rested his elbow on his other arm in a thinking position. "We might as well not waste this day..."

His face brightened, "let's see everything!"

He and I looked at Charlotte for approval. She smiled and gave us a thumbs up. "Let's go!"

We all ran towards the nearest exhibit which was the aquarium.

Keegan slowed down once we got inside the building. Charlotte and I kept running until we got to the nearest tank. We were at the freshwater fish tank. Keegan caught up with us and pointed at a fish. "That one looks like the both of you."

Charlotte and I turned our heads to find that he was pointing at a catfish. Charlotte looked at Keegan. "It still looks better than you though." She then walked towards the saltwater fish.

Keegan and I followed her. He wore a smile on his face and so I asked, "what's up with you?"

He looked at me and laughed. "It's just fun to mess with you guys."

We caught up with Charlotte and her eyes were sparkling in awe as she looked at all the fish.

Keegan nudged me. "Look, that's the same face she has when she looks at a picture of Chase."

I snickered as Charlotte turned around with a smirk. "I guess that means he's ofishially the best."

I applauded. "One point for Charlotte, none for Keegan."

"Alright, alright," Keegan raised his hands in defeat, "just make sure he can tuna guitar before his show." He ended his statement with a smile.

I admit, it was a pretty cute smile. I see why all the girls want to be with him. AH! What am I thinking! Keegan's just a friend. I shook my head. "It's tied one to one."

"We can continue this later," she crossed her arms, "I want to enjoy the zoo."

Keegan laughed. "Is Charlotte backing down?"

"No," her face turned red, "I just want to enjoy being here with you guys, that's all."

I got confused. What did she mean by that? Is something wrong? I looked at Keegan and he had the same expression as I did pasted on his face.

"You see," Charlotte started, "when Chase and I get married, I might not get to see you guys since I'll be with him on tour."

Keegan and I stepped back, stunned at what she said.

"Didn't think you were going to say that." I scratched the back of my head.

She had the biggest smile on her face.

Keegan laughed and patted her on the back. "If only the world let us marry who we wanted to."

"Of course we marry who we want," Charlotte started, "we marry our soulmates who are supposed to be perfect for us, not like a silly crush."
