Chapter Song : Ashes to ashes -David Bowie
Today is the day of my 21st birthday. I'm going to drink and listen to David Bowie alone. Or I could go see my mum and Dad.... They might have my little brother (george) there (he is 16). You know what I'm gonna call her.
*calls her mum*
Ruby: hey mum.
Mum: Hey sweetie. How are you today
Ruby: well its my birthday and it's going... swiftly so far.
Mum: well get into a nice dress and me, your father and George will be there soon.
Ruby: oh okay. See you soon I guess.
*ends call*
I gotta get dressed.
She gets dressed into a dress with her alladin sane embroidery on the back and puts her heels on. Once she goes downstairs she waits for her family to show up so she listens to David Bowie on full volume on her speakers.
Where are they. Its been an hour.
There's a knock at the door so she runs to answer it
"Heyyy guys" Ruby says as her family walk in
"Happy birthday" My father says
"Thank you" I say as we all sit down
"We got you a present from all of us" my father says.
He pulls out a box from a bag and passes it to me.
"Thanks" I say opening the box. I gasp at the present and I pick them up.
"BOWIE TICKETS.....OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH" I shout excitedly. I read the time and date it says there for and I notice there for today.
"Go get dressed into his merch sweetie" my father says as I hug them all and race upstairs into my heels with his bolt on them. I put my jeans on with stars on them with 'starman' written on the leg and I put my bowie shirt on that has his photo on them. I race downstairs and I head to the place that the show is on. I get my seat. I sit on my phone and wait for the lights to go dim. Once the lights go dim I turn my phone off and put it in my bag. Everyone screams as he comes running onto stage. He puts the mic to his mouth and takes a deep breath.
" Thank you everyone for coming. I would like to start by saying you all look amazing. Today's show is going to a bit longer than the others because this is also my hometown as most of you know. So I will start by singing my personal favourite Lady Grinning Soul." He says taking a deep breath and smiling. He looks down at where I'm standing and notices I'm alone. He smiles and I blush. He starts singing his song when I see him look down at me when singing. I find it a bit odd he was looking at me but I brush it off because he was my Idol. He finishes his song and he takes another deep breath
"Sorry for the one song but I gotta go do something backstage" he says smiling. About 5 minutes later he comes back onto stage and smiles again
"The second song I will be singing is Cracked Actor" He says as everyone screams again. A few seconds I to the song security come up to me and wisper in my ear
"We have upgraded you to VIP seats come with us" they say as I look confused but they help me over the barriers and I go with them to backstage. I get to backstage as he finishes the song.
"So I would like someone who came alone to chose the next song" he says as he looks at me. He walks towards me and puts his hand out gesturing me to take it. I don't think twice and I take it.
"So we have this lovely dressed lady to chose the next song" he says as I smile and blush. He puts the mic to my mouth and I take a deep breath.
"Uhhhh Queen Bitch" I say smiling
" QUEEN BITCH IT IS" He says grinning.
"So as we are playing Queen Bitch I would like this lovely young lady to join in with me. Since its her choice" I gasp as someone from back stage brings me a mic. He looks at me and wispers in my ear sending shivers down my spine
"You got this" he wispers. I smile and take a deep breath. We start to sing the song when he comes up to me and smiles. We continue singing and we smile at eachother while singing. Once we finish he smiles again.
"Do you have a pen" he asks me
"Yeah" I say passing it to him. He asks for Mt bandanna and i give it to him. He signs it and puts his number on it. Or that's what it looks like.
"Give it up for......" he says looking at me
"Oh um Ruby" I say smiling
"GIVE IT UP FOR RUBY" He shouts down the mic as the crowd goes crazy. He walks me back to side stage and smiles.
"Yes thats my number. I know you were wondering that it is" he say smiling. I smile back at him as he walks back to centre stage.
"We have a few more songs but unfortunately we finish at 9 tonight" He says as the crowd go crazy. Soon as 9pm comes he puts the mic to his mouth
"Well it is now 9pm unfortunately. But I could try squeeze 1 last song on if that's okay with my team" he says as the crowd goes crazy. He walks backstage and comes back out 5 minutes later. As the crowd goes crazy he speaks
"So the last song will be Sound and Visison" He says as I smile
OMG OMG OMG HE IS GOING TO PLAY SOUND AND VISION
He starts singing sound and vision and he turns round and looks at me singing the lyrics. The crowd start singing as well.
"Since Ruby knows the song should we let her join I " he says as the crowd goes crazy. He walks towards me and takes my hand. He takes me to centre stage and hands me his mic as another comes out for him. I start singing again and he joins. Once we finish the song i go back to side stage
"Well that's it for tonight guys I hope I see you next time" he says ad he starts to walk off stage. I turn my phone back on and call my mum
*in call*
Ruby: Mum I met him and I'm in VIP
Mother: realy
Ruby: yeah so I should be late back if you are staying there.
Mother: Okay honey don't be too late though we have another surprise for you
*ends call*
I take a deep breath as I see David walking towards me. He stops infront of me and I look up
"So you came alone" he says as I put my head back down
"Yeah none of my friends think I will ever meet you so there's no point if me having you as my Idol" I say upsetting
"Well since I gave you a call how about you call me tomorow and we can talk" David says as I look up smiling
"Sure" I say as he leans down and kisses my cheek
"Talk later Darling" he says walking off. I stand there for a few minutes and think to myself

I repeat that in my head so many times I don't realise it had been 20 minutes. I get to my car and I head home. I don't feel fit enough to have a party.
"Hey mum I don't feel well enough to have the party we can have a bigger one next year" I say as I walk upstairs smiling. I go to bed and I just smile myself to sleep
