Done with my engagement... and the man whom am gonna marry is not that bad... his name is Shri, a developer. He owns a startup and his family is backing him up if he fails in business... Not that i care of except my family cares for me.. so the details. He is okay but his family is totally ewww...
I was dressed up in saree... No offense for saree... I actually love to wear one but the groom shows up as if this a reunion party... Grey t-shirt black jeans and blue socks? Who wears Grey t-shirt to their own engagement? When they wanted the bride to be all dolled up with heavy jewellery cant they ask him atleast to be in formals? If not for suits... and an aunt of his was pulling my hair? To check whether it is original or not... Like what in the world? who are these people? I dont like random people touching my hair... When i thought it was over... they came up with horrible questions... which i dont want to remember...
And when another aunt asked me if i could cook... i answered yes ofcourse i make wonderful sambar with chickpeas... you asked for it lady!
She covered her shock with excuses... And the secret is i can cook a decent meal and yummy desserts but its none of her concern. Right?
Only Good thing out of this engagement... my family is totally happy with joy and I on the other hand is happy with the engagement food...
Given all that in.... Seriously arranged marraige sucks... As if love marraige is good... my opinion, marraige in anyway is an awful deal. Period.
But, things would have been different if it was with him?... right? Even i would have been different and my opinions, priorities, feelings everything would have been totally different!
My thoughts and debate with myself was broken by rithika's arrival
Rithika: How are you feeling? After getting engaged Akka?
Rithika is my younger cousin who is in her last year of school... and she loves me..
Maya: Good??
Ri: Questionable answers are not a good sign... are you confused?
Absolutely right and i forgot to tell you that she is a smart kid

Ri: So now that you are engaged... what will be your name ?? MayaShri?
Here came the Reality check! Nothing is gonna change... Maya Shri it is.... God.. It sound Gross!!!
Ri: And thought of couple name???
Maya: thanks but am good with Maya Krishnan... and No... can we come with a couple name? Uhhhmmm.. how about Shya?
Ri: What are you 4yr old?
Maya: Mari?
Ri: Nope!
Maya: Yari?
Ri: Seriously? Woman ? think... its your couple name
Maya: how about Yash?
Ri: As in actor Yash? Rolls her eyes
Maya: What is wrong with him? Look how gorgeous he is... with such a beautiful family... sighs
Ri: He is gorgeous but i suggest you to go with your initials? SM?? MS??
Maya: No.. i dont want to
Ri: I can even make a custom logo for you both?
Maya: No..
Ri: You are so difficult to deal with.. i will ask Shri Mama to pick your couple name..
Maya: Yeah whatever... thinks.. what is it with this Mama?
Ri: Good... I will keep you posted... she ran out of maya's bedroom
Maya: yells... Ask him to pick anything but initials!
By the time she ended her sentence rithika was long gone...
She dont what those initials...Those initials means a lot to her... Her forever1st love... She had moved on but those initials always has a special place in her heart.. she cant share it with someone.. Can she?
She took her old diary from the shelf... her dark blue diary which has all her secrets and feelings... which no one knows... and now that she is gonna be someone else partner she just wanna relive those beautiful memories one last time...
Because Forever was meant for memories, not people.
