The bell rang, nanay was standing in front of the class, ready to introduce herself to the whole class.

“Hello students, I am Dorothy L. Fernandez. And I will be your teacher in mathematics for this whole school year.

‘Naku, math. Mapapagalitan ako nyan pag di naka sagot..’ I mentally cried. Camilo nudged me, “what's with the face? Is tia strict??” he whispered. I slowly nodded in response. His eyes widened, and looked at nanay, worried.

"Can someone get me those bond papers from the shelf?" Nanay asked, someone stood up to get the box with the container, but they were too short to reach.

I sigh, I already know why she asked that.

I turned around, faking the cabinet. Concentrating on the box, I lifted it up using my telekinesis, and placed it on nanay’s desk. I put my head to my desk, embarrassed of my mom’s attempt to make me popular.

Someone suddenly patted my back, as a sign of comfort I guess?

‘Pinahiya pa ako ni nanay..’ I whined in thought. When I looked up to her expression, she had this grin. A proud, happy grin, you know when y6our parents get to show you off to people. Yeah that type.

Haysss nanay naman.

Nanay’s class was done.

putang -ina sa wakas!

But as I walked into the halls, I heard students gossip.

“It was like, Mrs. Fernandez was her mom or something.”

“She’s new, she was also in my math class”

“I thought only the madrigals had gifts.”

“Oh my gosh SAME”

At this point I knew it was about me.

“Mga marites. Chicka pa more mga gago.” I muttered under my breath.

“Rosa?” a voice called from behind. “You look down, is it because of the students gossiping about earlier?” I look at the person, Camilo.

“Ok lang naman, mga marites lang sila..” i trailed off, my eyes widened as his face became confused, I spoke tagalog randomly.

“I- I mean.. ‘It's fine, they're just marites’. Marites people who like to gossip…” I continued to talk. Hopefully people didn’t hear me.

‘Hayst ayoko mapahiya ulit’ I whined in my head.

It was now lunch time. I ate the pork steak I made for us earlier. It was kinda cold, but it was surprisingly still ok to eat.

“Gosh look, she even eats a weird dish.” a girl said as they walked past the table.

“Patayin niyo na ako.” I muttered.

I closed my tupperware and placed it in my bag. “y/n?” Mirabel spoke. “Excuse me, I lost my appetite.” I stated, “I’ll be right back, hold my bag for me yeah.” I excused myself, leaving my bag at my seat.

Walking towards the bathroom, I went inside one of the stalls and locked myself in.

“Purket kakaiba ang ako sa kanila, ganito na agad ang kanilang tingin saakin. Jusko day. Ayoko na po.” I ranted under my breath, not wanting people to hear me.

“Lahat naman tayo magkaiba… ayoko na sa tao. Mga hayop sila.”

“The new bitch left their table, Ha must’ve been embarrassed as shit.” a girl talked.

“Girl, did you see Camilo's face when she opened her food.” another spoke.

“No, why what did he look like?” she paused. “Disgusted?”

“No girl, he actually looked INTERESTED at the dish. LIKE WHAT” the other girl exclaimed, while the other gasped.

“Now she’s stealing Milo?? Elora is going to be MA-AD!”

“Well, bad luck to her then. Elora doesn’t like anyone near Camilo.'' As their conversation ended, they left.

‘Gago nakakatakot, dapat pala di na ako nag pa enroll.’

The bell rang, it was now the end of the first day of school.

Nanay said she had something to do, so Miguel and I went home with the Madrigals on our own.

I was still down, yes. But walking with them made me forget this awful day for a bit. “Did you see Elora’s face when she saw Y/n walking with us earlier?” Camilo asked, laughing.

She saw us? Weh?

“She went like this to her friends” Mirabel taunted, making a shocked/jealous expression. “Naiinggit na Doña.” Miguel commented. I let out a small chuckle. “Naiingit?” Antonio tried to say. “Celoso. Jealous.” I said.

“Bakit ba siya naging celoso sayo ate?”

“Sa aking palagay..dahil tayo lamang ang laging nasama o kinakasama ng mga Madrigal. Celoso siya saatin, Miguel.”

“Bakit biglang naging ganyan ang mga salitang ginagamit? Naging pormal.”

“Ha?”

“Ate. from ‘thingin ko’ naging ‘sa aking palay’ ang sinabi mo. tapos yung ‘lang’ naging ‘lamang’ “ he explained, “I don’t understand tagalog, Rosa, but your tone earlier sounded so formal to us.” Camillo interjected and Mirabel nodded along.

“Pakiusap, ganito lamang ako mag salita kapag ako’y naiistress o nasa masamang kalooban.”

Was that formal? I don’t know!! I'm stressed, ok bitch.

I guess I talk like this when I'm stressed.

“O, narito na tayo sa ating tahanan.” I spoke as we reached our home. “Magpaalam ka na, miguel. Aking iinitin ang ating hapunan.”

“Ako’y mauuna na,”

Author’s Pov.

“What’s up with her?” Camillo asked, Miguel shrugged. He did not know why her sister was speaking old tagalog or the current tagalog the people in the philippines are speaking.

Another reason why her uncle didn’t like Y/n was for her weird tagalog grammar and words. Her way of speech also affected Miguel, and sometimes her mother as well.

"Y/n, Miguel! Nandito na 'ko" nanay yelled.

"Magandang gabi Inay!" Y/n greeted while taking her bags and placing them near the couch. (Ps, nag mano si Y/n.)

"O, ano nanaman problema mo. Bat ka nagtatagalog nang ganiyan?" Dorothy humbly asked,

"Wala naman Inay. Pagod lamang ako sa unang araw ng pasukan." Y/n replied, Lying.

"O sige, kumain na ba kayo?" Her mother said, changing the topic. But Y/n know, she doesn't believe Y/n's answer

:A reply to her question, Y/n nodded, while Miguel shook his head.

"Ah sige, magpahinga ka na Rosa. Parang pagod na pagod ka na agad." A soft smile was seen on her face as she walked into the kitchen.

Y/n sighed, "goodnight ate!" Miguel yeled below the stairs. She smiled and changed my clothes then went to bed.
