I’ve drifted so far
don’t want to return.
School is …
but an annoyance
in the back of my mind.
Life
Living and being real.
Is the necessity now.
School keeps kids occupied.
I’m no longer
playing childish games.
A job will keep me grounded.
If only my body
was still in shape …
Professional dancing—shattered
in the forced move north.
Was never meant to be.
Perhaps I wasn’t
that good anyway.
Now,
it’s part of my life
I need to bury.
Leave behind
like I left Toowoomba
like I first left Sydney.
Sydney, I love.
I have returned.
