You can't love conditionally,
That's why I can't love you.
You tell me cruel things,
You act cruel to me,
You act cruel to my family,
And then expect me to love you?

You tell me to smile,
But don't bother asking why I'm not.
You don't tell him to smile,
You like it when he frowns.

You hurt my feelings,
But tell me it's my fault.

You expect me to be passive,
When you are not.

I don't want to love.
I don't want to smile.
I just to be.
Why is that so hard?

If you're only here for my mother,
Why do you talk to me?
I don't want to live civilized.
I don't want to live with you.

You thought you'd swoop in and save us, but we didn't need saving.
She needed help, but I was happy the way it used to be.
I'd rather be a recluse.
I'd rather be dirt poor.
I'd rather have each other than have you.
