Falling in love with a fictional character

I am in love with a fictional man,
He may not be real, but in my heart, he stands.
I swoon over his every word and action,
His fictional world brings me satisfaction.

I know he's just a creation of the writer's mind,
But loving him feels wondrously divine.
He's the hero in my favorite book,
I fell for him with just one look.

His words speak to me through the pages,
His story ignites my heart like a flame that rages.
I know in reality he's not real,
But my love for him is the real deal.

Why should I settle for a man of flesh and bone,
When my heart beats for a fictional character alone?
He may not exist in the physical sense,
But my love for him is all the recompense.

He's my escape from the mundane,
A fantasy world where love is sustained.
I'll always love him, my fictional muse,
In my heart, he'll never lose.

So don't tell me to let go and move on,
My love for him will forever be strong.
He may just be a figment of imagination,
But my love for him defies all explanation.

They say love knows no bounds or reason,
And in my heart, this love is a true confession.
I'll always love my fictional man,
For he's a love story that'll never end.
