Kendrick POV

“I’m so sorry about what happened when you said you loved me, I just panicked” Joel explained still holding me tightly

“It’s okay, If your not ready it’s alright” I told him and rubbed his back

“It’s not that, I really do care about you” Joel said sniffling and whipping tears off his face

I tried to keep a straight face but hearing that “I care about you” again felt like the knife in my chest was being twisted.

“Just I haven’t had the best experience when it came to boyfriends telling me they loved me, something always goes wrong after that” Joel sniffled but relaxed his breathing

“Wrong? Like what?” I asked

“Well when my first boyfriend said he loved me he followed it up by saying that he wasn’t really for an relationship, then my next boyfriend said he loved me then cheated on me, and my last boyfriend before you said he loved me then robbed my dad” Joel explained sadly

“Fuck” I muttered

“And I told all of them that I loved them back and I got hurt, When you said I love you, I was so scared that I couldn’t say it back, even tho I really do feel that way Kendrick” Joel said and scooted closer to me and hugged me

“I get it, you say it when you ready, I'll always love you” I told him and gently rubbed his cheek which made him smile and he kissed me sweetly as I held him tightly

“Okay stove and fridge cleaned out” I told Peck who was uncomfortably quiet

“Great can you leave now” He asked seemly annoyed at my presence

“I can” I said and grabbed my jacket and walked closer to the door when I noticed something behind the tv stand, I put on my jacket and walked over and grabbed what looks like an neon pink headband

“Who's this?” I asked him

“Probably Jasmine’s” He scoffed

“Looks expensive, think she wants it back?” I asked him

“Who cares what she wants, she used me” Peck pouted

“Used you? Because you guys broke up?” I asked then sat down next to him

“No not because she broke up with me” Peck answered mocking my voice

“Because she only got with me because she wanted to get back with her ex boyfriend” Peck told me sounding mad but his facial expression showed how sad he was

“I’m so sorry that happened to you” I said to him

“It’s whatever” He shrugged

“You think she wants this back?” I asked him

“Who cares” Peck said

“Have you talked to her since the break up?” I asked him

“Why are you talking to me?” Peck snapped at me

“Just seems like you need someone to talk to?” I shrugged and I watched his face softened

“Thanks but I don’t need pity” He muttered

“I know” I stood up and walked to the door

“But you can call me if you need someone to talk too” I told him as I opened the door and gently closed it.

Me and Joel walked out of the bedroom and saw Peck just sitting on the couch staring into space. I would’ve said something but the oven was cleaned so I decided to keep my mouth shut.

“Is he okay?” Joel whispered into my ear

“Peck is never okay” I joked which made him giggle a bit as we walked to the door and I kissed him goodbye and closed the door

“Peck” I called his name and he snapped out of it and looked at me

“What?” He asked me

“Get off my couch” I told him and walked him drag his blanket into his bedroom

I took a deep breath and started finishing the clean up.
