Mark was surprised Cesar was calling him, it was extremely late but he felt as though he owed Cesar..he did leave him alone in a sandwich shop.

"No it's fine...don't worry. What's up, are you alright?" He asked

"Yeah...it's not me, it's my mom." He paused for a few seconds then spoke again

She's knocked out cold, and I have no idea why. I'm on my way to the ER, but could you do me a favor?"

Mark felt guilty despite having no reason to, he had to pull the phone away from him slightly so he could grumble at himself

"Yeah, of course, what is it?" He eventually asked.

"Uh, I just need you to come over and turn on the cameras we have set up. You know the ones that we installed after we were robbed?" Cesar stated Mark noted he was unusually talkative.

"Oh, yeah. Would you mind if I asked why?" He asked slightly suspicious

"Well, she screamed really loud right before I found her on the ground. I...I just–" Cesar stammered

Mark was sure something was wrong, Cesar didn't stutter or explain things in great detail...if Mark expected a call from him he'd assume it'd be more frantic with short bursts of words.

He decided he was going to test Cesar, Mark knew for a fact Cesar didn't watch the TV because they simply didn't have one

"Well, do you have your doors and windows locked? Like what the broadcast told us to do?" he asked

"Yeah, that's the weird part. Maybe she saw something...? I don't...I don't know." Cesar explained,

now Mark was certain that this wasn't his dear friend.

"Alright, I mean, it shouldn't be too bad. I'm just gonna switch them on and get out of there though. You know how I feel about your house." Mark reassured the person on the phone, he had to get to Cesar's house and find out what happened.

"Yeah...that's fine. One last thing: try to get a good view of the b-" The phone audio began to glitch, Mark could hear faint muttering on the other side

"Oooookay..." He said, trying to get the call to end

"Thanks, I gotta go, I'm almost at the hospital. Thank you.", The call ended.

Mark was conflicted on how he should feel, on one hand, he was worried about Cesar but on the other, he felt ashamed at himself for leaving Cesar

If he had stayed with him and gotten sandwiches...perhaps this wouldn't have happened

Mark dialed another number, if he was going to do this he'd need more help then just himself and a gun.

The phone rang as he waited.
