Jacob and Renesmee were sitting on the porch of the Cullen house, watching the sun set over the forest. Renesmee was snuggled up against Jacob, her head resting on his chest. Jacob had his arms wrapped around her, holding her close.

"Jacob," Renesmee said softly. "Do you ever think about what our future will be like?"

"All the time," Jacob replied. "I think about it every day."

"What do you see?" Renesmee asked.

"I see us together," Jacob said. "Forever. I see us growing old together, watching our children and grandchildren grow up. I see us happy, and in love, for all eternity."

Renesmee smiled. "That sounds perfect," she said.

"It will be," Jacob said. "I promise you that."

They sat in silence for a few moments, watching the sun dip below the horizon. Then Jacob leaned down and kissed Renesmee gently on the lips.

"I love you," he whispered.

"I love you too," Renesmee replied.

They sat there, wrapped in each other's arms, watching the stars come out one by one. They knew that their future was uncertain, but they also knew that they would face it together, no matter what.
