Chapter 3: Detective

It's been a week since the last events Kendrix has been training with King and they both have been doing hero shit. Currently, Kendrix is laying on King's couch.
King: Yo ass needs to get a job!
Kendrix: What?!
King: I ain't paying for this mansion by myself.
Kendrix: Aren't you rich?
King: And get yo ass up and go get a job!
Kendrix: I have to balance school, training, and being a hero.
King: Well drop it or take up online classes you have a Level 10 IQ you don't need school. Get a job that is for your IQ.
Kendrix: I could become a detective.
King: That's a good idea let's go to the Police Department.
King snaps and they appear at the TCPD (Tokyo City Police Department).
Kendrix: I'm still not all the way used to teleporting, you could have given me a warning.
King: Let's just go in, you take the lead.
Kendrix walks in with King behind him.
Officer: Who are you two and what do you need?
Kendrix: I'm Tripple C Kendrix but everyone calls me Kendrix. This is my friend King. We are here to apply for a detective job.
King: We? Who are we?
Kendrix: Us.
King: Negro, please!
Officer: You two look like kids.
Kendrix: Teenagers, we are 15 and 16.
Officer: And you two are trying to become detectives.
The officer starts laughing hysterically.
Officer: Okay, okay, talk to the captain he's on the 5th floor.
They both walk into the elevator and then press button 5.
King: First, who the hell was he laughing at?! Second, why don't we just use our powers to teleport to the 5th floor?
Kendrix: To answer your first question in his defense we are teenagers trying out for a serious job. For your second question let's not reveal our powers until it's absolutely necessary.
King: Yeah I guess it makes sense. Let's just get this over with. Wait how do you plan on convincing the Captain to hire you?
Kendrix: Just know I have a plan.
King: How do you know that will work?
Hendrix: I do have a Level 10 Intellect.
The elevator stops and they get off. They walk to the Captain's room and knock on the door.
Captain Sugita Hanako: Come in!
Kendrix and King walk into the room.
Sugita: So what do you two want?
Kendrix: We want to become detectives for this Department.
Sugita: Do you think I will just give you the job, you two are kids.
King: Teenagers.
Sugita: Semantics! You two are too young for this job.
Sugita starts drinking his coffee.
Kendrix: I have a Level 10 intelligence.
Sugita spits out his drink.
Sugita: That's not possible, especially at your age, I would understand a nine because we saw Level 9 intellect as low as 13 but a level 10 has only been seen from people 30 and older.
Kendrix: You want me to prove it?
Sugita: Prove it!
Kendrix: Okay.
Kendrix takes out a paper showing his intelligence.
Sugita: No way. We need a level 10 detective but you are still a minor we can't hire you.
Kendrix: Yeah but in the law book it states that if that person has superpowers then these laws wouldn't apply the same.
Kendrix turns on the Celestial Flames on his arm.
Sugita: So the law doesn't work on you the new law of powers would come into play.
Kendrix: And that book states that people with powers as low as 13 can participate in law practices to the point that they can be hired.
Sugita: You are a smart person, you're hired.
Kendrix: Wait, wait, you also have to hire my friend he's like my assistant.
Sugita: Sure he's hired too.
The three shack hands. Kendrix and King then teleport outside.
Kendrix: As I said, "I had it".
King: You are smart. Let's head back home, I'm a bit tired.
Kendrix: You didn't even do anything.
King: Eh, still.
As they are walking they hear an alarm at the bank and a guy comes out running at Mach 5.
Kendrix: It's a speedster.
King: Think you can fly that fast?
Kendrix: Probably.
Kendrix jets off forward at Mach 3.
Kendrix: Not fast enough. Speed Class: Mach Multiplier!
He starts flying at Mach 6 and runs ahead of the speedster.
The Speedster: What the hell?! Who are you?!
Kendrix: I am here to stop you, now hand yourself over so you don't get hurt.
The Speedster: Just because you are faster doesn't mean you will be able to beat me.
Kendrix flies and grabs the speedster by the legs.
Kendrix: You did?
The speedster keeps trying to move. Kendrix then breaks his legs and drops him on the ground.
The Speedster: AHHH! MY LEGS!
Kendrix: At least you are not dead.
Kendrix calls the police and teleports to King's House.
King: Speed Class?
Kendrix: I've been putting stuff into classes, so I can remember them.
King: You have a Level 10 intelligence and you can't simply remember techniques.
Kendrix: It's just easier.
King: You are a smart dumbass.
Kendrix walks to his room, lays in his bed, and falls asleep.
