Nezuko told me not to mess with the groceries, but I don't listen.

Just because I'm sick doesn't mean I can't help out, and Nezuko and Inosuke have already been through enough today. I feel terrible about it.

After I finish drying and putting away the last item, I cough roughly into my sleeve and head upstairs.

I grab my robe and wrap it around myself. It's cold in here!

Thinking that Inosuke might also be cold, I grab another of my hoodies and head back downstairs.

I'm surprised to see my best friend there at the table. He's already out of the shower and is sitting in a kitchen chair, his head resting on his arms, which are folded on the tabletop.

He appears to be asleep.

Feelings swirl in my chest, that nervousness and underlying warmth creeping through me.

Will things be awkward after what happened on Friday?

What did happen on Friday?

I feel like I should be closer to him because of it, but I'm also afraid.

What are these feelings I can't seem to escape from?

I reach out and gently run my fingers through his hair. He doesn't stir. I set the hoodie on the table and sit beside him.

Nezuko comes downstairs not much later.

"Hey big brother-"

"Shhh!" I hush her, pointing at Inosuke.

She smiles.

"He's already asleep?"

I nod.

"Alright, well, I'll get started on dinner."

I try to help, but Nezuko mostly succeeds in not letting me. I pout at her.

"You need your rest," she scolds.

"You guys ran through the pouring rain for me! The least I can do is help you make soup!"

"It's fine," she says.
