"NETEYAM!" I exclaimed more than happy.

Neteyam grabbed his arms tightly around my waist. He breathed in my scent and hid his head in my neck, leaving a trail of small kisses.

I chuckled. "I missed you, warrior boy."

He hummed and nodded his head slightly, resting his chin on my shoulder. "I missed you, too, my wife."

Neteyam continued kissing my neck until he got to my jaw. He stopped, pulling his head back so our eyes could meet. He was about to go for my lips, until...

I woke up.

It had only been a dream of what I wished was true. On the morning of the sixth day of his arrival, I decided I was going to fix this. Or at least try.

I made my way to have breakfast with the Sully family. They were all happy I joined, except, obviously, for my mother. She made all kinds of faces and was only moments away from fuming. At least she cared too much about what other people thought of her to start yelling at me.

Atswon was also looking from next to his parents. He wasn't mad or anything similar. Far from it, que was probably glad that at least one of us got to escape the torment of fuzzy moms discussing who would make the bride's garments for the mating. Not even his father wanted to be there.

I sat in between Lo'ak and Neteyam. The younger brother and I talked a little, and I found it hilarious that all he did was ask about Tsireya.

"So, how old is she?"

"About your age, seventeen."

"Do you know if she has a boyfriend?"

"Oh, trust me, she doesn't. She is completely free. No ties are holding her down. Although I would say there is someone who caught her eye," I smirked at him.

"Oh, I get it," he copied my smile, "It's me, isn't it? Of course, it's me. I'm hot, fun, charismatic, confident."

"It would be wrong to add egocentric to that list, but you are one step from it. What you can add is troublemaker."

"I won't make trouble, I promise. It's not like she's promised to someone else and I'm planning on getting her back as soon as possible to prevent her from mating with the other guy."

That bastard.

I looked at Neteyam who was staring intensely at Lo'ak. He lowered his gaze to my eyes and continued eating his food, not without a big cough. It was unbelievable of them.

"Okay, yeah, I'm leaving. I've got work to do, some hunting, and-"

"Don't." Neteyam grabbed my hand before I could completely stand up. "Rutxe."

My eyes went wide and my breathing quickened. I nodded, not knowing if I'd be able to talk, and sat back down. Neytiri and Jake watched from their places. Tuk had gone for more food, so she wasn't there, but Kiri rolled her eyes. Lo'ak let out a nasal laugh and I smacked the back of his head.

"Don't laugh."

"Yes, ma'am."

By the time I finished my food, everyone was starting to go do their things. Mom talked with sign language from afar, telling me we'd meet up later. Honestly, I couldn't care less. The only thing I needed was a good excuse not to go.

Neteyam and I remained seated, our bodies so close together our arms touched.

"I want to show you something."

"What?" I asked, more because I didn't hear very well and also because his statement was out of the blue.

"I want to show you something," he repeated, "but not here. Meet me in the shack you showed me before. It has to be after dinner, okay?"
