My eyes crack open slowly a dim light fills the room from the windows behind me. I extend my legs, stretching them and sitting up. I look right and see Roan still laying on his stomach, his arm is dangling off the side of the bed slightly and his ribcage moves up and down slowly.

I slowly get up. When my feet hit the floor it sends a shiver up my body. I walk to the window and look out at the sky. Orange and yellow seep into the sky from beyond the earth, the clouds are pink, slowly floating across the sky. The tall ruined buildings are shadowed by eachother, making the sky seem even more vibrant beyond the cracked and torn buildings decorated with the same tapestries as this building. The only people on the streets below are the guards scattered around corners and the doors of buildings. The food stands and trading carts sit abandoned for the night in their spots, completely emptied of their goods.

"The elders say the radiation made the sky even more beautiful than it was before the bombs," Roan's voice says suddenly. I jump a little, surprised.

"I still prefer sunsets," I say, looking at the sky for a few more seconds before turning to face Roan. He stands and shrugs his shoulders.

"So do I but they're still good," he says walking to the table and chair and grabbing his vest, putting it on," we should go do something while we wait for Lexa to summon us. It wont be too long I don't think, I heard some of the guards saying some of Skaikru's people are visiting the Capitol today, Clarke's mother and another leader of their's. If they're smart they wont keep Lexa waiting."

"When has Skaikru ever been smart when it comes to our people and our ways?" I ask in a sarcastic tone, though it is true nonetheless. I put my vest and armor on, leaving my cloak, I strap my weapon belt around my waist.

"I hope you don't plan on using those while we're surrounded by Trikru warriors and allies ," he says, though he straps his to his waist as well.

"Don't threaten me with a good time," I say with a small grin, he returns one and shakes his head.

I reach down and pull my black army boots on, pulling the strings tight. When I'm done Roan opens the door and I follow him out. As we walk down the hall the guards we pass by eye us closely.

"God, I always hated the city," I mumble to him.

"That makes two of us," he responds with a sigh.

We walk outside onto the balcony that connects to other parts of the building. Clarke is standing at the top of the steps to our right, staring out at the city. Roan starts walking up the steps, I follow him closely.

When Clarke sees us she steps away from the edge and turns her body to face us timidly," what do you want?" Her voice is laced with a hint of spite.

"Calm down, we aren't here to take you again-" I cut him off.

"Oh you weren't? I was actually planning on taking her to space again," I joke, she gives me a nasty look.

"We're prisoners here just like you," Roan continues, staring at her.

"I don't understand, why would you want to go back if your mother banished you?" She asks Roan.

"It's still my home. It's where my people are." He responds blankly.

"But why did she-" Clarke starts.

"Not everyone gets to have loving families, Clarke," I say her name forcefully.

She glances between us with furrowed eyebrows, shifting her weight to her other foot. Roan looks back at me with a clenched jaw and serious eyes. I stare back at him for a few seconds but I ultimately look away. His eyes linger on me for a few more seconds before he once again turns back to Clarke.
