Through the gauze-like mesh

she gazed, beady eyes searching

for an escape from this hutch,

the bars of which she clutched

with sweaty palms.

She gazed, at the lowly man

who pounced upon her 

like an apron falling to the floor,

wet flour caking her eyes.
