Mantheniels POV

I wake with a jolt almost toppling over the bed I was lying in. A bed? I blink a few times as the room became clearer. I felt a short wave of panic when I realized it was not a familiar room. Even the walls and the tiles were not familiar. I make a full body check, noticing the bandaged I had on my shoulder from where a bone had cracked. There was a bandaged on my thigh as well. I was dressed in an unfamiliar silk gown in the color of starlight. The bracelet had a faint glow on my wrist as I stare at it to try and remember what had happened. I had been fighting, I was losing and then the King... My eyes grow wide at the sudden memory just as Lindethiel walks in the unfamiliar chamber.

She looked absolutely happy to see me. With her hair tied up so elegantly I suddenly had a thought I was in another world. That was before she hit me on the shoulder.

"What is the matter with you?!" She scolds as she continues her aggressive attacks. I try to block them with my hands as a small smile escaped my lips.

"Limdethiel, please. I am sorry!" I scream as she hits me one last time before finally settling down. Her blue eyes seemed brighter these days and she seemed to have grown a care for her hair.

"Do you know how sick with worry I was?"

"I may have a faint idea." I reply sheepishly as she shakes her head, obviously displeased by my reckless actions as of late. Then her blue eyes turned to me again and they were filled with the kindest and warmth of a sister.

"No amount of scolding is going to bring you to your senses so I will not even try." A small smile spreads across her lips as she turns to look around the room.

"It is quite beautiful, do you not think?" Her eyes scan the room and I allow myself to do the same. The walls had a faint glow, almost as if they were showered with pieces of gems. There was one window with a balcony that overlooked a dark sky and an ocean. The salty air came through, bringing with it the calmness of the tides that were the cause of the soft sounds that enveloped us. I breathe in the calmness for I have not felt it for so long, it was as if in this moment, everything was at peace.

"Everyone would be happy to see you."

"Everyone?" I ask, oblivious to what she meant.

"Yes, everyone in Calaer. You were definitely not the only survivor." She explains, her eyes filled with a strange happiness. I smile back at her as I feel the sleeves of the gown slip. I grab it and pull it up.

"Do they not have any other dress? This one is a size too big." I whine and she rolls her eyes at me as she gets up.

"You will not find a dress smaller than that here, my friend. All of the elf maiden here are almost as big as the men. They are quite aggressive too." She seems to give her statement a thought before crossing over towards the door. She turned to me as her hands gripped the silver knob and waits until I get up, which I reluctantly do after a while. The length of the gown dragging behind me, I had to pull it up a bit to avoid stepping on it and making a fool of myself. The dress was ridiculously big.

I step outside, my feet feeling the coldness of the stone floors and almost gaped in awe at what I saw. It was much like the palace of Erebor, only this was not underground. It was a stone palace built under the sky, the ocean to the west of it. The moon cast its bright glow on the city, making it glow like the stars themselves were embossed on the stone walls. The sound of waves crashing on the shores filled the silent night, along with sounds of laughter and music making me smile.

"Come on now, you have not seen anything yet." Lindethiel says with a curious smile. She leads me down staircases and bridges until we find ourselves nearer the sound of merry making. I stopped to look at the small house like structure that had no walls or a roof even. It was perfectly designed with white stone gems, a house of steel vines and gems. The sound had stopped as soon as we had arrived, allowing a faint blush to creep up my cheeks.
