With the other hand, he messily wrote down a seal to get him to a safer place. A game of cat and mouse to let the others get away.
He had placed explosive seals on a few of the opposing nin without them noticing.
After he finished he activated the explosives and the teleportation seal at the same time.
The tags burning up was the last thing the 2nd Hokage witnessed before his vision swirled into a black abyss..
