"I'm not Rin, Obito.  Rin's already dead."—Houseki Kira, Definitely a Sadist by @Naburi

Embracing the Darkness

Sometimes, I envy Tayuya—for having the physical presence that naturally intimidates others and they make way for her because she gives out that vibe that you know you don't want to mess with.  And that's why I envy her, because I have a weak presence compared to her.

Unfairly so.

"Get out of my way," Tayuya snarls, and even just that is enough to push and shove people away.

Some has turned to glare at her though, but when Tayuya turns to glare in turn—harsher than theirs—it seems like they feel intimidated by her all of a sudden, which is a little bit funny.

"What are you doing, Yūki-sama?  Let's go."  Toujou probably chuckled because of my expression, but then I won't blame him because I probably look dazed.  "Yūki-sama, c'mon."

"Huh?"  I turn.

"We're going to the designated room," Tayuya answers.  "What's wrong, Yūki-sama?"

"Why're people crowding there?"

"That's the room."  Toujou hummed thoughtfully.  "Seems someone's blocking the entrance."

"But I thought the room is on the third floor?"  I frown, scrunching my nose.  "Aren't we just on the second floor right now?"

"But we are on the third floor already, Yūki-sama."  Toujou seems confused now.  He turns to look at Tayuya.  "Aren't we?"

"Since it's Yūki-sama's senses we're talking about, things he says are hardly wrong."  Tayuya sighs.

"Then genjutsu?"  Toujou mumbles.

"Most likely."

We end up taking the stairs and indeed what is downstairs is only a genjutsu.  The room is empty it seems, all genins, supposed to be here, downstairs.  Well, that's stupid.

"Those guys blocking that door sure got the genins fooled, huh?"  Toujou laughs.

"Says the guy who was almost fooled too," Tayuya snorts.

"But I'm rusty."  Toujou just laughs again and he scratches the back of his head.  "Good thing we have Yūki-san's good senses though, huh?"

"You make me sound like a material object, Toujou-san."  I sigh depressingly.

"I-I didn't mean it like that, Yūki-sama!"

For the next hour or so—well, not really.  That's just exaggerating facts.  Anyways, Toujou explained himself for most of the part we waited in the room for genins from downstairs to realize they're being fooled like idiots.

Though surprisingly it's not long before participants do start to fill up the room, taking up the seats and vacanted spaces.  Some of them don't even know why they waited on the second floor while others are pissed because of what happened.

"Well, that took long enough," Tayuya scoffs with a smirk.  She has her cheek pressed on her hand as she sits beside me casually.  "There sure are many of them, huh... That's nice.  I'll have fun cutting less than half..."

"I think you'll have to keep that it for a while, Tayuya," Toujou tells her thoughtfully.

"And why?"  Tayuya frowns.

"Aside from avoiding unnecesary attention for ourselves—" He gives her the eye, "—the combat-type exams might be later on.  Why else would we be assigned to a room?  A classroom nevertheless?"
