I really hate my writing, y'all. It's so dry and bare. It needs more, but I don't know how to make it more. The thing is, when I write my first-person original stories, I feel like I'm a decent writer. There's a good amount of description, and it doesn't feel flat. I don't like writing first-person fanfic, though, so all my fics are third-person. My third-person writing is just shit. You'd think it would be the opposite, since I sadly write way more fic than I do original stories these days.

Anyone out there have tips for improving your writing? Obviously, reading more is always a good thing. I need to stop reading so much first-person. Or read more fanfic, because I rarely do that.
