*I just woke up, had a quick shower and got dressed*
Evie:You're up early, Dad. Even for you.
Dad: You know what they say about the early bird. He spends the rest of the day yawning and cranky.
[chuckles]
Evie: So, what's all this? Hmm?
Dad:Well, I've been taking tourists to the same patch of seaweed for years. It's getting old. These days the punters expect a lot more bang for their buck.
Evie: So?
Dad: So I've decided to shake things up.
Evie:Again?
Dad:I've got it nailed this time, Evie. Trust me. Mako Island dive tours.
Evie: Mako?
Dad:Coral reefs, beautiful marine life. Tourists will lap it up. Mako's one of a kind, sweetheart. I'm going to make sure the whole world knows about it.

Zac's pov:
[Erik] You're a hard man to track down. Want to hang out?
[Zac] Above or underwater?
[Erik] I'm sorry I didn't tell you. I wanted to, but what was I supposed to say? "Hey, everyone. I'm Erik, from an ancient line of mermen. Who's up for a frozen yogurt?"
Zac:You went out of your way to keep it a secret.
Erik:Of course I did. I've spent my whole life keeping it a secret.
Zac:So why didn't you say something when you knew what I was?
Erik:I have to be as cautious as you guys. It's like a reflex. Ondina told me how you got your tail. A land boy with merman powers. Awesome.
Zac:And you're the real deal. Bet you're pretty fast in the water.
Erik: [chuckles] How about a race to Mako?
Zac:I've got to catch up with Y/n in the café soon.
Erik: And I've got a shift. We won't be long. Come on. It'll give me a chance to check out the competition. Unless you're not up for it?
Zac:You're on.

Evie:Are you sure you thought of everything? I mean, Mako's a marine reserve, Dad. You need a permit to dive there.
