Chapter 8: Early Christmas Gift Shopping

Y/N PoV

Once we had finished eating the food that Yukari prepared- or possibly just bought beforehand -, we set off to the outside of the house at Yukari's request, and i knew i was in no position to comply regardless of what i wanted to do since she had the right to do as she wanted for at least two days according to our deal, Yukari took advantage of that to the fullest so far by dragging me by the hand holding mine with a gentle yet strong grip

Y/N: "So what's the first place we're visiting..?" I asked the youkai with hopes that she'd answer my question, following right behind her as she gave off a gentle hum and held her parasol up high despite the sunlight not being that harsh

Yukari: "Oh, just to buy some things, isn't this celebration you all do right around the corner? It was...Christmas right?" She asked to confirm her doubts, turning to look at me with her index finger over her lips

And just as she said, she was right about that, Christmas was indeed closer than i thought it was and i've yet to get something for Renko and Maribel...

Y/N: "Ah...i forgot about it completely! I should've bought stuff when i could..."

Yukari: "Oh i wouldn't worry about that dear, you can use this trip to find something nice to give others, how's that sound?" Luckily for me Yukari didn't seem to be in the mood to make me do anything that would take too much time, if anything she just seemed to want to help with her end of the deal

Y/N: "For real? Then what about you?" Now the biggest concern laid on what she had in mind to do for the day, whatever plan she had couldn't have been to just accompany me outside to get others stuff

Yukari: "Don't worry about it, i have some things i'd like to buy, so i'll explore on my own for a while once we reach our location" She really had plans of her own to spend the day, looking a lot more cheerful than usual as if whatever she needed to do was important and made her excited

Y/N: I don't know why i'm getting the feeling something's gonna happen anytime...

Soon enough we finally reached a mall that wasn't more than a few kilometers from my house, it was crowded by many people that were buying things for Christmas to give as gifts just like i intended to do, but for some reason it seemed a lot less crowded than it usually is. Yukari looked around for a moment until she finally turned to look at me, letting go of my hand and putting her's behind her back

Yukari: "Well, you're free to explore, i'll meet you here in a couple hours okay?" Even now she was being way too kind by giving me the option to roam freely without her following, perhaps she really was in a good mood for the festivities coming up that get everyone in good spirits

Y/N: "Ah, right...don't go too far away either, you might get lost" I said with some concern in my voice unknowing of what her business here was, but my words earned me a harmless hit to my forehead from the back of Yukari's hand in a playful way to tease me

Yukari: "I'll always find my way back, it's not too hard if you think about it. If you need me just shout for me, i'll know you're calling right away~" With that, Yukari walked away in direction to one of the small stores in the mall, specifically one that sold ribbons for gifts

Y/N: "Huh...she knows her stuff, that place does sell strong ribbons only cut by sharp scissors..." ...but right now wasn't the time to think what she was doing, it was time to think of what to get Renko and Merry as a gift. With the idea in mind i set off to search for the best thing i could afford, not exceeding my current budget of course

The search shouldn't take that long since i knew this place like the back of my hand- the only place in my whole hometown that i really know about fortunately -, so finding a gift for either of them that they could like would only depend on the amount of people that were in line or blocking me from getting to any destination
