Remember your garden

I can't explain why, but travel
always gives me poetry inspiration.
This was written on the bus 💗

Caddy-corner to me on the bus
She sleeps on your shoulder.
You stare ahead and try not to move,
Not wanting to disturb your Aurora.
I fear for you as I have sat the same before.
I have slept the same way before.
And I have understood the pain that can come from both of those roles before as well.

Will you be hurt?
Will you have someone to pick up the pieces?

You say you love her,
And that much is clear.
But what are you to her?
You're unwavering devotion.
I've seen that before too.
I've been afraid of that before too.

I see how you come to her,
How you come when she beckons
And wait when she asks.
I see how you give for her
But wonder if she does the same.

"I want you to be my girlfriend"
And she pulls you in.
Yet thorough your "playful" fights and your waiting on her,
Are you in over your head?

Don't lose yourself, Eden in your garden.
Don't become blinded by a snake who calls itself truth and love.
Hold true to you and walk into love.
Hold true to you, and hold your lover's hand,
Not the entire weight.
