Half Afro American, Half Spanish, his mother was Helen's best friend in the entire world before she died. August lives with the family since him and Violet turned 10 years old. Helen is his God Mother and the two families have always been super close. August knows about Jack Jack's superpowers; he was the first to experience it while babysitting.
