I think the reason it is so hard for us to be kind is because it's so easy to see a title, an action, or a comment, that we tend to forget that what we are really looking at is a person. A living, breathing person. One who has their own struggles and similar to you, is just trying to get by. It's so easy to see the waiter who screwed up your order, the man who cut you off on the highway, or the woman that mumbled the word "seriously" under her breath when you walked by. That we fail to see the person who is the reason their dog is so happy and taken care of all the time, the father who comes straight from work to drive his daughters around to their extra circulars all night, the mother who takes extra shifts so she can make her kids smile on Christmas morning. Because the thing is at the end of the day everyone goes home to eat dinner. And everyone has someone who loves them and can't wait to see them. And I hope that when you get into your car and begin to drive home you can thank yourself for trying.
