"So, you ready, JenJen?"

Jennie rolled her eyes. "What is that, the one thousandth nickname you have for me?"

Taehyung clutched his chest, feigning shock. "Only a thousand? Well, that's insulting. I'm definitely at least at a million, sugarcup."
She laughed and beamed at him. "Nah-ah, you already used that one yesterday."

He laughed, putting a hand on her shoulder and getting out of the car. They gazed out at their destination before them, the endless sea stretching on for miles ahead and the sandy floor sparkling and glistening with sunlight.

"Sounds like someone's been keeping track," he said, nudging her.
She smirked at him. "Hard not to when you remind me of them every single second."

Taehyung was about to retort with another flirtatious reply, but suddenly he jumped 2 feet into the air. "Okay, this sand is hot!" His mouth twisted into a half grimace as he hopped up and down on his tiptoes.
That earned him a chuckle from his girlfriend. "Well, it is the beach, Tae . What did you expect?"
All he could manage to do was shrug, his haphazard dancing akin to that of a hyper Bruni after eating chocolate. "Whydomyfeetfeellikethey'reonfire," he mumbled.
"You look like a Bunny," she said, giggling, but then wiped a hand across her forehead as she stepped forward. "But yes, this isn't anything like the weather we get back home. I always underestimate the… ah… heat."
"Nah-ah I'm a Bear not bunny" Jennie just rolled her eyes.

The sun's invisible, penetrating lasers descended on them as they walked, sending jolts of flame riveting down their spines and alighting their normally-ice-tuned bodies with fire. So it was the case that their shirts were already clinging to their backs and their brows were drenched long before they reached the water.
Finally, when they'd set up camp a few yards from the water's ephemeral rendez-vous point with the sand, they collapsed in their chairs. "I swear it's hotter this year than it was last summer," Taehyung said, panting.

"Oh, it's not that… bad." Jennie winced, feeling equally exhausted but not wanting to show it.

Soon, however, he got up and beckoned with his arm. "Well, one way to fix that." He pointed at the rushing water and smiled. "Join me?"

She smiled and tipped her hat at him. "Why, I thought you'd never ask."

Laughing, the pair ran down the beach to the white-blue sea, their exhaustion from the heat melting in the face of youthful love. Shells and rocks littered the sandy ground as they raced down, dotting the landscape with little pinpricks of white, grey, and amber.

Taehyung charged straight ahead into the oceanic foam without hesitation. He turned to her, chest drenched, body dripping with droplets of water, and his hair wet only at the tips of his locks. The water was already up to his waist. He rolled his eyes when he saw she was barely in up to her ankles.

"Come on!" he said to her, a grin plastered to his face.

Jennie laughed nervously from her spot, which was a bit farther up on the damp sand. "I am!" She gestured to her foot to make her point. "I'm just taking it slow."

He put his hands on his hips. "Look, Jen, are you gonna make me come get you?"
Her eyes widened, and a crimson blush flew across her cheeks. "No, no, I've got it," she reassured him, though a small part of her hoped he'd do it anyway.

He chuckled, then walked forward.
10 seconds later she was in the water.

"TAE!" she shouted, laughing. "You didn't have to pick me up!"

He bopped her on the head. "How else were you gonna get in, silly?"

The waves lapped at their sides as Jennie splashed him with a handful of water.
