I was all alone, regretting about my life
When someone came and sat close to me
He covered his face with a cap
But he seemed like a bird who was all free

To be true, I felt envious
Envious of the person sitting with me
Who was all happy and smiling, he lifted the cap
And I saw a thing which many couldn't see

His deep and beautiful eyes, yet shallow
His lips smiling, yet sad
The redness of his eyes tells
Life's been very bad

Yet he smiles, rubbing his eyes
Never lets anyone see his plight
Emotionally he's strong
He has to have all the might

My heart flutters on the thought
How are people so strong?
And here I am
For smiling, who's always longed.

He gets up and leaves
Leaving me in thought
When anyone can smile
I have to too, I ought

I get up, my hands winged
My heart smiling,
Time to go mile and mile
And to remember, I have to keep that precious smile.
