my mind is set

but my heart races faster

how will i repair

this brand new disaster

from what i was told

who else has heard

my future had changed

since that once tiny word

a speck had fallen

from somewhere over head

and as it descended

it declared my soul dead

i am at fault

for the deeds i have done

and i will remember the day

and the war he has won

with cool green eyes

i look to the stars

and imagine a life

without all these bars

she once was a dreamer

that free spirit of hers

is now locked as a poet

while she dances with words
