Rain

The rain pours,

It’s a hard, cold downpour,

From a window a long, stone face stares,

Into the abyss of cold dark sorrows,

The world is dark

Hours slowly drag by,

The rain never wavers,

It never slows, never stops,

Always a cold dark shadow,

The heavens open,

And the light of the sun shines through,

The warm rays spread through the darkness,

The birds sing their sighs of relief

And the face at the window lightens to the smile of a child
